Langtry Manor Hotel

Good

Liked: Spacious room, nice large comfy bed.
Disliked: Water in the shower was difficult to adjust.Room was a bit tired, stained seats, marks on carpet.

Very satisfactory overnight stay.

Liked: Very nice 'traditional' Hotel. Room was very comfortable and the Tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits were premium quality. We liked all the information regarding Lillie Langtree and how the hotel came to be built.
Disliked: There were no staff as the staff were based at the owner's nearby hotel. Having to let yourself in via a code was a bit impersonal.

Disliked: No one was there to greet me, and i felt very uncomfortable. Tried to make contact and no response.

Second visit to this hotel...

Liked: Love the old building & its history. Location is excellent between Boscombe & Bournemouth. A short walk to the beach. Staff are excellent.

Like Lily Langtry, the hotel...

Liked: The staff were very friendly and the character of the building was unique.
Disliked: The spa bath didn’t work and the “garden view” was mainly the view of someone else’s garden and not that of the hotel! These were the extras I paid for and did not get to enjoy.Some of the furniture was sticky to the touch and not cleaned, even after I requested it. The extra toilet paper I asked for was not provided. You have to go across the road to the sister hotel, the Derby Manor, for breakfast and the Langtry car park was also used as an overflow for the Derby. More attention and care seems to be paid to the Derby than the Langtry!

Disapointing

Disliked: The room was to small for the up grade that I paid for. I staid there 2 months ago and had a lovely large room this time I paid extra for an upgrade and got a smaller room why?

Disliked: Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel to ask whether it might be possible to check in earlier than 15:00 or to leave my bags at reception, as I had a family occasion at 14:00. I was informed that an early check-in at 12:00 was available for a fee of £25. I opted not to incur the extra cost and instead planned to attend the event first and check in at 15:00.When I arrived at 15:10, I was warmly greeted by a very polite and helpful young man at reception who checked whether my room was ready. Unfortunately, it had not yet been cleaned. I explained that I had emailed in advance about my need to check in on time due to my family event, but he was unable to assist further as the room was still being prepared.There appeared to be only one staff member cleaning rooms, and he seemed quite stressed, likely due to the aftermath of a wedding the previous day. It became clear he was struggling to manage the workload, and other guests arriving around the same time were also affected. While I remained understanding, I witnessed other guests being quite rude toward the reception staff, which I felt was undeserved.Despite this hiccup, I truly enjoyed my stay—the room was lovely, the breakfast was generous and well-prepared, and all staff I interacted with were warm and courteous. However, I believe this situation highlights a need for the management team to reassess the allocation of housekeeping resources, especially following large events. It may also be helpful to ensure staff have functioning equipment, as I observed the cleaner working with what appeared to be a broken hoover.Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. Very good

Liked: The room was comfy. It was really useful that we could open the window and luckily we had a fan bonus. It's our second stay and definitely stay again.
Disliked: The only problem with our room was that it was above the main entrance and every time the other guests would come and go you could hear the main door.
