Langtry Manor Hotel

Had better, paid less.

Liked: This is my honest opinion. Great Location, size of the room wonderful. In general it was ok.
Disliked: Having to cross a road to go to the sister hotel to have breakfast. I'm sure I didn't see this before I booked. It was a chore trying to access the property because of the key code lock. Smell that was in the air, my guess it would be the old decaying tapestries above the bed. The tea and coffee maker is a kettle.

Perfect for a night away

Liked: Lovely and very clean property, close to the beach, in a nice area, we chose the room with breakfast included and we had a great meal, cooked breakfast was very fresh, and the pastries were delicious too.
Disliked: To hot inside due to very hot weather, a fan is required on hot days .

Avoid if you can help...

Liked: Location fine.
Disliked: The hotel had not prepared our room on time for check in. 3pm was described as the room available time on their multiple, duplicate, emails and text messages, and on the front door. We arrived at 3.20pm and had to wait 40 minutes. (Considering they charge if you don't check out by 10.30, should they give payment back on the room if it's not ready on time?) The room itself it turned out was not very clean so not sure why the extra hour they took to prepare it was needed. The worst aspect was the bathroom - a hand held shower over bath with no hook to rest it on, and all positioned underneath an angled eave, meaning you could not have a shower standing up and no curtain/screen to stop water splashing all over the floor. Bit ridiculous to be honest. (After a long car journey during one of the hottest weekends in England this year, we really hoped for a decent shower in the hotel.) Asked for another room from the robotic receptionist, none available and no comments about the child sized shower. If this was in the image, obviously would not have booked the room. Breakfast was poor, really basic and badly made. Nothing redeeming apart from the hotel was where we thought it would be.

Liked: Safe and spacious car park…
Disliked: It was too hot there.. there is no Fan/AC in room..

Liked: good quality if limited options
Disliked: very querky really but very pleasant

Exceptional

Would look for another hotel...

Liked: Receptionist changed our room with bath tub to a room with a shower.
Disliked: The breakfast room didn't have any cereal bowls when we arrived and was told by waiter that they had run out of bowls. No attempt to go to find or wash up any bowls. Also they had run out of muffins so toast with eggs benedict.

We wished we were visiting...

Liked: Beautiful decor and its history was well presented. It felt luxurious. Breakfast at the sister hotel was excellent.
