Good

Disliked: Only problem was the boiler switched off so no heating or hot water for the night/ morning. Otherwise very good.

Best hotel ever!

Liked: The Langtry and the Derby are my two favourite hotels - both utterly sumptuous, luxurious, quirks and unique. Every stay is different and every stay is special. Staff are always fantastic and I always have the best time. Thank you all :)
Disliked: Nothing not to like - one of the 2 best hotels ever (the other is its sister hotel: the Derby)

Wonderful

Liked: Amazing location, parking was a massive bonus and the room and property was beautiful, the bed comfy and the attention to detail was lovely. Was running a little late so didn't make in person check in but having the keys left in a safe for us was really handy for check in.

Disappointing

Liked: Near to walk to clifftop. Free parking. Helpful receptionist who responded to our requests as best she could.
Disliked: Expensive poor quality buffet breakfast, across the road. Difficult for hotel to provide non allergic bedding. Small 4 foot wide bed. Tiny shower room, nearly impossible to move in. Shabby furniture. Steep stairs to room. A feeling of hotel being deserted with no staff on site in the evening. Room was cold as manager had switched off heating for this hotel 2 days before arrival. It was switched on at our request. Rooms are only serviced every 3 days, so you have to seek out replacement tea/coffee and dry towels etc from reception Recommend to future guests not to book the "comfort room" but to book a higher grade room.

Good

Liked: Nothing exceptional. Breakfast good - provided in hotel opposite
Disliked: Although we were upgraded I had informed hotel my husband had difficulty walking and we were provided with a spa bath that neither he nor I could access because of two huge steps and a lip which was needed to be climbed to reach bath. Very cold in rooms. My husband mentioned it first night but nothing was done about it. Accept it was an old property.

Exceptional

Liked: Beautifully decorated with a history of its own.We love it there. We go back time and time again.
Disliked: A couple of extra pillows and pillowcases would’ve been nice as there was only one pillow, each Also, it would have been nice if the towels could’ve been changed each day. Perhaps a chambermaid visit in between like the majority of hotels would have been lovely. Unless you pay for three nights this is not included and we stayed for two.

Glad we chose to stay...

Liked: Only stayed for one night but everything was excellent, room spaceous, bathroom had great shower and spar bath, onsite parking and even though we had to go to the sister hotel opposite for breakfast which was amazing we liked it all. The hotel had lots of history to offer which showed in the decor around the building. Location not too far from the town or beach.
Disliked: Everything ok

Very good

Liked: The room was much bigger than we thought, Seemed to be seeped in history. The area was well laid out and was nice to sit and watch tv on a sofa. Bed was beautiful and bathroom very nice and modern with 2 showers in case you don't want to get your hair wet!
Disliked: It was really cold in the room, as it is so big the radiator should have been left on low. Towel rail in bathroom also off so the floor was freezing! There are lots of windows but curtains cover them although the morning light came through top windows.
