Liked: Staff very friendly. Room clean. Dinner excellent. Service at both dinner and breakfast was very good. I appreciated having a proper pot of tea at breakfast and the muesli was excellent.
Disliked: Decor was rather tired and lacking in any sort of charm. Floor lamp in bedroom didn’t work and the hairdryer was sticky as were the salt and pepper grinders in the restaurant.

Joshua is a great asset...

Liked: The hotel was beautiful. However at the time of the booking it was not mentioned or mentioned clearly enough that the spa was shut. When I mentioned this to Joshua at check in, he was more than happy to arrange something which compensated this. In addition bookings.com misplaced my payment, but once again Joshua sorted this out with ease. My family were able to relax here and it is a wonderful place.
Disliked: Bookings.com needs to make things clear at the time of booking that key services are not available. And also be good not to misplace the payment for the staff and guests to sort out.

Great Location, Great Building, Great...

Liked: I have stayed at Lanes a few times. Different Rooms each time and happy each time. For Hotels around the Yeovil Area Lanes is the best for sure. I would and do recommend it. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and chatty.
Disliked: As I have said, I am happy with pretty much everything. All I would like to see changed/upgraded is the tech in the rooms. I had Room 1 this time (Penthouse), a lovely room. However, the TV was very dated, small, and only viewable from the Sofa. As such, for ease, I used my iPad. To be fair, this is the new norm nowadays. Although I like to connect my phone or iPad to the TV or speaker to play music, This is becoming more and more common in hotel rooms.
