Relaxing, decadent and exceptional -...

Liked: The staff in this hotel are amazing. Alex from The Wellhouse restaurant went above and beyond in his customer service, from especially helping to source a cheese platter even though it wasn't on the menu to brilliantly handling the whole room of customers when the lights went out due to a short power failure. The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. I really couldn't recommend this experience highly enough.
Disliked: Nothing. It was honestly a wonderful weekend escape.

Our son's birthday Weekend.

Liked: Hotel is beautiful. Location great for walks and in a pretty setting. Staff friendly and attentive. We went for my son's birthday weekend.
Disliked: Unfortunately, on Saturday evening when dinner had just started, there was a power cut. The hotel has no backup generators - dinner was eventually, after a long wait, cooked on outside BBQs. This was admirable of the amazing staff but the food was cold and not cooked properly. We all headed to bed at 10.30pm as there were only emergency and battery lanterns to light up the hotel. The heating also went off and was very cold. We were without water until Sunday around 10 am - There was no heating or water too due to a water pump problem, so no shower or water for washing/bathing until when we checked out Sunday which was such a shame.

Average stay and expensive.

Liked: Lovely country location.
Disliked: The family room was incredibly hot especially in the night and made it uncomfortable. There was a ceiling fan but this didn’t make any difference & we were unable to open the windows. We wouldn’t say in this room again. We felt like for the value this hotel is a bit dated now.
