Lovely stay in the centre...

Liked: The location is perfect for being in the heart of Nottingham. We upgraded to a suite which was extremely large and well worth the money.

Another very pleasant stay at...

Liked: It’s a lovely hotel in a great location, although it’s lively nearby you aren’t disturbed in the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the standard of cleanliness throughout is great. The staff are very helpful and the bar/restaurant downstairs is good, if very busy

A hidden gem so discreet...

Liked: I made a very late booking with the hotel that necessitated booking two rooms, on adjacent nights, separately which required a change of room for the second night. That was managed extremely well by the hotel and my wife and I made the move to the second room early on the second day without any issue. We think the hotel is superb, we were upgraded to a superior double room, 2nd floor, for the first night and that was superb, the Studio, 3rd floor, corner room on the front was outstanding. Air conditioning in both rooms and mini - bar fridges meant keeping cool was easy and both rooms were kept cool during the July heatwave. The staff were superb, especially Hannah on reception on the second morning who sorted out the early move to our second room and made arrangements for our complimentary drinks to be chilled and ready for collection in the bar.. The breakfast rooms are in the co-joined pub and we were hosted courteously and provided with excellent food and service. The hotel is in a very quiet area, there is no parking at the hotel but there is a pre-bookable, NCP car park no more than three minutes walk from the hotel - from the hotel entrance walk up West Gate and take the first left the car park is on the right. The Nottingham Arena and National Ice Centre, is approximately five minutes walk. There are restaurants and bars within 5 - 6 minutes walk and the centre of the city (Brian Clough statue) is 10 - 12 minutes walk - there are many shops and restaurants along the way. The railway station is 7 - 8 minutes walk and the hotel is close to student accommodation in the city centre. The nearest tram stop is Lace Market - approximately 5 minutes walk.
Disliked: We found nothing about the hotel that we didn't like. It is in a historical part of the city of Nottingham, has easily accessible parking, no requirement to use a car during your stay, and is close to all amenities and the Nottingham Motorpoint Arena.

Overall, my stay was frustrating...

Liked: The location
Disliked: The service was disappointing. I had requested an early check-in multiple times when I booked the property, again before arrival, and once more in person, as I was attending a wedding. Despite this, I was only allowed to check in at 1:00pm after chasing several times. When I apologised for the request, I was told, somewhat dismissively, that this happens every week. The room I was initially staying in was also not up to standard. It was very cramped, didn’t look particularly clean, and felt quite dated. It definitely did not reflect 4-star facilities or expectations.Later that night, after returning from the wedding around 12:30am, I discovered there was no running water in my room, no shower, no ability to brush my teeth. I entered through the main entrance and passed reception, but no one informed me of any issue. I then had to pack up all of my belongings (which was a lot, given I’d attended a wedding) and move to another room at 2:00am. This was incredibly exhausting after an already long day and really affected my experience.
