The Spotlight on La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Indianapolis Downtown

Comfort Meets Convenience in the Heart of Indianapolis

Modern and affordable, La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Indianapolis Downtown is a centrally located hotel perfect for travelers looking to be close to the action without breaking the bank. Just a short walk from major downtown attractions and music venues, this hotel offers a clean, comfortable base with thoughtful amenities like free WiFi, a complimentary hot breakfast, and pillowtop bedding for a restful night’s sleep.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're in town for a show, this hotel’s location is hard to beat. It’s an easy stroll or quick drive to popular venues like Lucas Oil Stadium and other downtown music spots. After the encore, you’ll appreciate the peaceful atmosphere for winding down. Early check-in isn’t guaranteed, but the 3:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out work well for most weekend plans. Public transport and rideshares are also readily available in this part of town.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a big show together
  • Solo travelers on a music pilgrimage
  • Couples making a weekend getaway out of it
  • Fans who want a quieter space to crash after the concert
  • Budget-conscious travelers who don’t want to compromise on location

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant open late, the complimentary hot breakfast is a great start to your morning after a late night. You’ll find several walkable dining options nearby in the downtown area, and many deliver late. Select rooms include a microwave and mini-fridge—perfect for leftovers or snacks.

Nightlife Options

The hotel itself doesn't host live music or have a bar, but you're just minutes from downtown Indy’s nightlife scene. Whether you’re after a dive bar, craft cocktail lounge, or late-night bite, you’ll find it within a short walk or ride.

What People Say

Guests love the clean rooms, comfortable beds, and strong downtown location. Many mention the hotel as a great value for the price, especially when attending events nearby. The included breakfast and friendly staff also get frequent shout-outs.

Areas for Improvement

Valet parking is the only option and comes with an extra charge—which some guests found inconvenient. The hotel doesn’t have a bar or restaurant on-site, so plan ahead for post-show eats. A few guests noted that rooms near the street can pick up some city noise.

The Bottom Line

An affordable, downtown stay that puts you within easy reach of Indianapolis music venues—ideal for concert-goers who want convenience without the chaos.

They were very cooperative and extremely friendly. We missed out on breakfast because we slept in from a late concert but they referred us to a couple of pizza places that deliver until 3a.m.! I've never heard of such possibility! <3 thanks for everything.

Melissa, Cincinnati, visiting Old National Centre Sun, 7 December 2014

The La Quinta sufficed for our needs - attending a concert and staying only 2 nights. The staff was quite friendly and helpful and our room was clean.

Liked: Decent rates.
Disliked: Run down.

Melody, Columbus, OH Sun, 18 May 2014

The venue was very close to the hotel. We found a nice grocery store on the walk home from the concert where we purchased food and drinks. It was a very pleasant part of town with food and partying spots near the venue.

Liked: Staff was nice. We were lucky enough to get the underground parking although there were few spaces available.

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Jonelle DeP, Indianapolis Mon, 10 December 2012

This hotel was advertised as having wireless and it does not. I called the desk several times for help; their explanation was that it was "slow". But "slow" for them means if you click on something, be prepared to wait 5 minutes for it. I couldn't even check email, much less do the work I intended to do. They should never be able to advertise that they have wireless. Hotel clerks don't care about your problems because you didn't "book" with them. The room had not been prepared for us at all. There was a refrigerator that had not been turned on; the heat was not on; the person next door was hacking constantly and the walls are so thin you can hear everything. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, though we asked for a non-smoking room. It must have been smoking at one time and they haven't changed the carpets. I won't ever stay at a LaQuinta again.
