Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers note that the hotel is fairly basic and not the quietest at times, given its location near a highway. While it’s clean, the decor is dated in places. Don’t expect luxury—but do expect solid basics at a very reasonable price.

The Bottom Line

If you're catching a concert in Phoenix and want a wallet-friendly, no-frills stay close to the action, Motel 6 Phoenix AZ Midtown is a reliable option that won’t eat into your ticket budget.

Sarah, El Mirage, visiting Valley Bar Phoenix Sun, 24 July 2022

Do not stay here! I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. I have stayed in La Quinta's before that were super nice. The front desk staff weren't very friendly. There was security on site but I only saw him twice in the lobby upon check in and check out. Super loud and disrespectful people outside my room blasting music late and early, even though there are supposed to be quiet hours. Front desk girl said she would do something about it - she didn't for at least for over an hour. Called back to ask to switch rooms twice and the phone just rang and rang. Pool closed; housekeeping never came by to ask if I needed anything or for cleaning. I had to ask for more towels and toilet paper and bring my old towels to them. Room was dirty; homeless people all around. As a female by myself I felt incredibly unsafe and wouldnt leave my room at night. I slept with my switchblade and stun gun by my bed both nights. Yeah f**k this place and their overpriced rates for a dump!

Disliked: Loud; unsafe; dirty; expensive for what it was; rude staff.

Not a good place for a single woman to stay alone. Not the best area of town.

Liked: Close to restaurants.
Disliked: Service was not good at all! They tried to say I was smoking weed in the room and charged me 50$ until I spoke to the general manager, then they reversed the charges. Area was to busy for me - people outside the rooms just hanging out.

this hotel is an absolute...

Liked: There was not much I liked at all. I stayed only one night with nothing remotely likeable.
Disliked: Where do I start. I walked in to my room and immediately found a pillow in the middle of the bed out of place with a big brown stain on it. I continued on to find both beds with severe stains on the sheets (some that looked like blood, dirt, oily food stains and who knows what else) If I wasn't so tired I'd most likely had left but I stayed and just slept on top of the covers which wasn't that comfortable to begin with. Sleeping was minimal anyway with the constant noise outside up and down the hallway from people coming and going from rooms as well as people walking around the parking lot yelling and doing what looked to be suspicious things. TV did not work, barely had any TP in the restroom which was a complete disaster. Broken toilet seat, dirty floor, door was completely beat up. Not a pleasant stay and a complete rip off. DO NOT stay here if you are looking for a clean and safe feeling experience.
