Kimpton Theta New York - Times Square By IHG

I could say it was a bit pricy, but considering that this is Manhattan it should go without saying that any decent hotel will be expensive, so I will not count that as a negative point. Among the positive points: it is in a great location, the room was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the staff was friendly (so much so that the bellman practically grabbed the luggage cart out of my hands when he saw me starting to push it, because he wanted to help me with it...of course, I'm sure the fact that me doing it myself meant that he wouldn't get a tip had nothing to do with it - ha, ha!). I can't think of anything negative to say, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I loved this hotel and the perfect location - it was to everything that we wanted to do in New York City for the weekend. Staff were very attentive and Larry was wonderful at making suggestions for restaurants nd tours. Would come back again in a heart beat.

Liked: Location; staff; room accommodations and cleanliness.
Disliked: First night the shower just took quite a bit of time to heat up.

Liked: The property is located in a very strategic location, 3 minutes walk to Times Square, subway stations across the street.It was clean, well maintained and the staff in general were friendly.They need to prepare more options for the breakfast buffet instead of the same exact items every single day.

Liked: Amazing location. Excellent room size and amenities. Very comfortable bed and pillow. Clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The room we had was a room for special needs. Therefore, the shower was open access and the water went all over the washroom floor making the use of the toilet somewhat uncomfortable.

Liked: Location, easy access to all seights. Kudos to man at reception and housekeeping lady for service, rest of stuff described bellow.
Disliked: Some od employees behavior is like someone is forcing them to be at hotel and work. No coffee in room neither in hotel ouside coffee station working hours. Hotel smells weird.

Great hotel - Resort fees...

Liked: The hotel is ideally located on 8th avenue, close but far away enough from Times Square. Subway is super close. Lifts are operated through room cards, which is great for safety. Our room was overlooking 8th avenue, on the 5th floor. Noise was minimum, limited to the many sirens of emergency vehicles, all part of NY sounds. Staff were very helpful. Our room and bed were huge and very comfortable. We never had to wait for an elevator. There are 2 food stores nearby as well as delis, restaurants. Carnegie's diner is 100m away. We could store some food in the room's small fridge. I can recommend the "Grill Salad Pizza" outlet opposite the hotel: we arrived past midnight at the hotel and bought some superb pizza slices from this shop ($3.50 a slice). I would definitely stay at the Kimpton Theta again.
Disliked: Tea/coffee facilities in the room would be a nice to have, but by no means a deal breaker. Thanks again!
