Took a while to book in as there were two guests complaining about their stay which was not a good start. We were then welcomed by the desk clerk who proceeded to book us in, but when the phone rang, despite there being two other people behind the desk, he decided to answer the phone and so we had to wait several minutes before he finished the call and continued to serve us. On Saturday evening after returning from the theatre, we decided to call room service - we were phoning for several minutes but there was no answer! My sister then decided to go down to the reception herself to be told there was no room service on Saturday evening. This was not such a problem, but the only thing I take issue with is that the number for room service is the same number you would need to ring if you have any emergencies, so thank goodness we did not need a doctor! I think you need to look into that. The hotel itself was very nice - breakfast very good, service in restaurant very good.

Liked: Rooms very clean.
Disliked: No room service or anyone on the desk on Saturday evening; tea/coffee not topped up on second day.

Liked: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Our room was really lovely, however the shower wasn’t in keeping with the standard of the room. The shower was quite small in size as it was over what seemed to be a small bath and our shower head while seemingly new wasn’t connected properly and didn’t work properly. It was a shame as the room was really lovely.

Liked: The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and the hotel itself is a beautiful building which is very well located for many local attractions. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and will return again.
Disliked: There wasn’t anything in particular I didn’t like. At a push, there’s possibly scope to improve the gluten free options at breakfast. But they provided GF toast and made every effort to address my travelling companion’s dietary needs.

FANTASTIC

Liked: Couldn't have been more accommodating. Asked for early checkin as we had a matinee theatre. Now only did they sort it out for us they gave us the most fantastic upgrade! And a cake for our anniversary

Liked: Incredibly clean and the service was spot on. Particularly liked the way they welcomed our dog.

Liked: The hotel is beautiful, but the real high light was the staff. They were absolutely wonderful. They'd noted that it was my nine year old daughters birthday and left a slice of cake in the room. They also accommodated us in the salon after we'd returned with the theatre with our children and couldn't have been more hospitable. Well done! The room was a perfect size, modern and very clean. There was also an iron and ironing board which is always much easier than requesting one.
Disliked: nothing
