Took a while to book in as there were two guests complaining about their stay which was not a good start. We were then welcomed by the desk clerk who proceeded to book us in, but when the phone rang, despite there being two other people behind the desk, he decided to answer the phone and so we had to wait several minutes before he finished the call and continued to serve us. On Saturday evening after returning from the theatre, we decided to call room service - we were phoning for several minutes but there was no answer! My sister then decided to go down to the reception herself to be told there was no room service on Saturday evening. This was not such a problem, but the only thing I take issue with is that the number for room service is the same number you would need to ring if you have any emergencies, so thank goodness we did not need a doctor! I think you need to look into that. The hotel itself was very nice - breakfast very good, service in restaurant very good.

Liked: Rooms very clean.
Disliked: No room service or anyone on the desk on Saturday evening; tea/coffee not topped up on second day.

Liked: I loved the building, it was very opulent . the Fitz bar, palm room and ball room were beautiful but you do need more seating around the foyer area as it's a great space to chill and people watch
Disliked: I had a single sleeper which wasn't designed for practical use. i was not concerned about the size of the room but what was in the room and how it was designed. You walk in and immediately the bed is in front of you just looked odd, the wardrobe to hang clothes also had the kettle tray in it immediately above the clothes rail which isn't great, so I didn't hang my clothes. there weren't alternative plug sockets for the kettle I had to plug in on my bedside table which caused issues as it was small space and health safety issue , the magnifying mirror in the bathroom was not movable or extendable so you had to be 6ft tall to use it . Also for a london hotel which facilities lots of weddings, I expected beauty massage treatments to be available . I had dinner in the restaurant and the waitress was abrupt taking my order didn't smile once made me feel uncomfortable

Disliked: The rooms were hot and the air con was capped so wouldnt go below 22 degrees we were told. The shower was fixed at 55 so neither me nor my husband could shower comfortably (this wasnt explained during booking and is an atypical fixture height). The television also didnt work and we were informed we would only be able to access terrestrial television, despite the tv welcome page suggesting otherwise, very disappointing
