Very pleasant stay.

Liked: The room was spacious, and the bed was large. The facilities were good. We were provided with a small bar of soap and liquid soap in the shower. The dockyard and shopping centre are just a couple of hundred meters from the hotel. So excellent location for the main sights. There are several pubs near the hotel, all of which serve very nice food and are reasonably priced. The room was stocked with water, a kettle and tea and coffee. This was replaced when needed. We bought drinks at the bar, they had a good selection or options and all were very reasonably priced. All the staff we met were polite and helped with anything we asked. We would like to personally thank the young lady who cleaned our room. She was polite, obliging and couldn't have done more to help us. Check in and check out were quick and efficient!!
Disliked: There is nothing we 'didn't like' this is feedback only......The breakfast was acceptable. The menu offered scrambled/poached/fried eggs, I was confused as they i could not have an omelette, which is just scrambled eggs, not scrambled. Due to my dietary requirements, I could not really make the most of the breakfast options, but my partner did and enjoyed it. The room was pleasant but very basic and quite old-fashioned and dated - this did NOT impact on our stay I would like to add. It was very hot during our stay and we appreciated the air conditioning unit - it was, though, very noisy and sounded like a washing machine running a cycle all night. We are not sure if it was the air con or, as we were in room (25) was next to the cleaning supplies room, if there was a washing machine going all night. The shower had little power, and the toilet was a nit loose. We were only there for 3 nights so again this did not impact on our stay. Our family, staying in another room on another floor had the same problem, so I suspect there is not much that can be done about the water pressure. Would this feedback stop me returning to Kepples Head - No

Very good

Liked: Location is unbeatable: very close to Historic Dockyard and to railway station (we were travelling by train). Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were more spacious than expected, and the building itself is an attractive one.
Disliked: Our friend had a room at the front of the hotel and told us that noise from shunting trains went on quite late on the first of our two nights. Otherwise no complaints.

Pay for what you get...

Liked: Great location.Polite staff. Free parking.
Disliked: Didn’t sleep well. Very noisy as heard trains, buses and could hear people in the car park. Seagulls were noisy as so close to the sea.

Avoid like the plague!

Liked: Absolutely nothing redeemable.
Disliked: The water was out when I booked in and wasn't told. The room was disgusting. Dirty carpet, stains on the walls, blood stain on my duvet cover, the staff attitude was abysmal, chipped crockery, dated old furniture, I had to put my kettle on the bedside table to boil water as both plugs were weirdly being used by the TV, the window latch was broken. This was advertised as a family room but was barely more than a crack den. I intend to claim my booking fee back as I feel what they gave me was nothing less than a rip off.
