Liked: Every single one of the staff were charming, smiley & helpful, and also TOTALLY professional = EVERYONE ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT all round.
Disliked: My room (816) was surprisingly poor, especially at the price:-1. There was an annoying hum all night - was it from outside equipment, fans or something? My aircon was off but it was annoyingly unacceptable. 2. The whole room was pretty 'tired', especially the bathroom with only its 'dangerous' (for old people like me) shower over the bath.3. The room lighting was REALLY bad and the desk-lighting simply too dim for me to work. The bathroom lighting was REALLY bad too, making it difficult to see to shave even in the magnifying mirror.All-in-all the room & bathroom lighting are RIDICULOUSLY bad for an expensive hotel.4. My breakfast (downstairs) poached-eggs were cold (presumably pre-cooked and re-heated but not enough), there was no decent yoghurt and the coffee was wretched - I asked for a carafe of strong coffee with some milk on the side but what I got was a small ceramic pot of cold, thin & weak coffee: when I said to the (really-nice) waiter that it simply wasn't good enough the replacement was just as bad! And this was meant to be Grosvenor House! (Pret-a-Manger wd have been ashamed!) 5. I was genuinely surprised by all the above especially when, for instance, the Marriott Great Northern Hotel at Kings Cross is so very good.

Liked: The location of the hotel is very convenient but rooms and passage way too small.
Disliked: Rooms too small and carpets need to change had spots throughout the carpet.
