Excellent through and through

Comfortable stay in historic home

Liked: Lovely historic house with comfortable rooms and beautiful common spaces. The property is sparkling clean and the staff is welcoming and helpful. Room was quiet and bed cosy; I slept very well!
Disliked: Not the fault of the property, but it is a little out of the way. I was without a car this time, and it is a bit of a walk to get to restaurants (on the other side of the park).

Liked: The location was absolutely beautiful! The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were spacious and beautiful. Overall, an amazing experience.

Comfortable and elegant midtown stay

Liked: Lovely and comfortable bed and breakfast in a historic building in midtown Sacramento. Staff was friendly and professional; room and facility sparkling clean and comfortable. Great bathroom with wonderful shower.
Disliked: Everything was great! I think that it would be nice if they actually served breakfast rather than advertising themselves as a B&B but then only making breakfast available as an add-on grab and go.

Our stay was lovely, would...

Liked: We didn't have breakfast here, or engage any of the additional services. Not to say we wouldn't in the future. It was a beautifully maintained property, and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The spa tub was fantastic.
Disliked: I wasn't aware of the spiral staircase up to the Happiness room. I probably wouldn't have booked it. My partner is recovering from radiation treatment and is still very weak, and the staircase about did him in. Also, carrying luggage up the stairs can be a little tricky. Also, we're tall people and I didn't realize the slope and height of the slanted walls would be so severe. I bumped my head several times, and it was impossible for a man to pee in the toilet as you can't get close enough to it. Really inconvenient for those of us who are tall. It was a beautiful room though, but I wouldn't book it again for these two reasons. Bed was a little soft for my comfort, I need a firm mattress. Slept OK though.
