Liked: It was wonderful. Breakfast is served at the rooftop. Free bicycles for a little spin along the bay. Warm pie in the evening. Beach towels are provided. Friendly staff. Rooms are big and comfy. No elevators, it is an old building.

Never will return -- and...

Liked: This is across the street from the beach, and I suppose the view is nice, but it was raining so the promised breakfast room with the view was closed. There was a breakfast of sorts -- croissants (choice of chocolate, ham and cheese or plain), orange juice, a basket of apples, instant oatmeal and their brewed coffee or tea. Not a fabulous breakfast, but OK. There was a nice coffee place a couple doors down, called Kracken Coffee, where we got our coffee and a delicious bacon date scone.
Disliked: My friend and I booked an ocean view room, and paid $442; sent a message requesting a room with 2 beds, they have a ocean view room with a regular bed and Murphy bed, which we requested, and they responded saying they could honor that request, but when we arrived, the room was already taken and they had no other rooms with ocean view and two beds; they gave us a room with two beds, that had a slight view out of the corner, but as we later discovered, after dinner, the room had a big leak in the ceiling, so there was water on the floor near the door and a piece of glass on a sign on the door broke and left glass on the floor (which we picked up as best we could). It had been raining quite hard, but this was a huge disappointment and the man at the desk who first greeted us basically said he gave our room to someone else who was staying longer; and then handed the problem off to someone else to fix. The woman who was left trying to fix this issue was apologetic and promised to charge me just $249, and reimburse the $193 more I had already paid, but said it would have to be reimbursed through Booking.com since I paid via Booking.com; This was on Saturday, and I have not confirmation yet from Booking.com that this ever happened. I know they can't control the rain, but after paying nearly $500 for a room, to be told they gave it to someone else was terrible. And to be in a room that was leaking....! Incredibly bad maintenance and care. Their "solution" to the leak was to put a towel down on the floor. Management obviously didn't care.
