Great stay at a quality...

Liked: Very friendly and accomodating staff. The place was spotless. Tea and coffee provided in the morning as well as water provided during all hours was a nice touch.
Disliked: Another light source was missing from the room, it was quite dark but this is only a minor detail. We had dinner at Melvyn's which was excellent as were the martinis in the Casablanca lounge but the 'Mel's breakfast' was disappointing and poor value as it was bereft of a number of key items so we dined next door at the sister holtel, Avalon, and it was a great breakfast.

Liked: The inn is charming--old Palm springs/50s/colonial style. Staff informative and eager to help. Grace the concierge spent an hour getting us dinner reservations where we wanted. Our room was large and beautiful!! the bar looks like old Frank Sinatra Palm Springs.
Disliked: Plumbing didn't function. No cold water in bathroom sink; heat didn't work (cold desert night). Everything fixed the next day. There was no on-site parking--free but on the street. I thought that there would be full spa services at next door Avalon but only one on-the-grass yoga class Sat and Sun and one pilotes. The inn used to be closer to the edge of town--now the city has built up around it. Breakfast had stale croissant and soft boiled egg was hard. the French toast was terrific.

beautiful historic property, rustic vibes

Liked: beautiful property, very quiet rooms and nice secluded and enjoyable pool area. on-site restaurant was wonderful.bathrooms are nice with great aesop products.
Disliked: the property is historic but the rooms are just old and not in good shape, not super maintained. considering this, the prices are WAY too high.the front desk staff on arrival was very unfriendly, no help with guiding you in the dark to the parking area or helping you find your room, and no help with luggage either (up several stairs).
