Extra $15 Hotel Fee

Liked: Great place, great view of the Empire State Building from the observatory floor and friendly staff.
Disliked: Price on Booking.com was $197 but I paid a total of $212. The price was still great and it included breakfast, but I don?t like surprises. The resort fee should be listed when booking.

Very comfortable, modern, mid-priced hotel...

Liked: Super convenient location, just a short block from a subway station, short walk to the mid-town area, right in the heart of K-Town, 20 minute walk with luggage to Penn Station, in the shadow of the Empire State Building, etc., etc. Really a great mid-priced location convenient for walking and public transportation,, and a comfortable few blocks away from the madhouse Time Square area. We would definitely return on a future trip.
Disliked: It can't be helped, but the breakfast room is very crowded, messy, and uncomforable during the hours when everyone comes down for breakfast. Also, in the mornings and checkout time it's a very long wait the two smallish elevators.

Overall, a great stay

Liked: That was my second stay in this hotel during this trip (I traveled out of NYC for three days and returned). The first stay was perfect. The second stay was a bit less, but still very good. The staff was helpful and friendly and had good recommendations for me.
Disliked: On this stay, I arrived at the hotel shortly after midnight, and the room I got was on the second floor and had a big window with a balcony that was shared by several rooms. I soon noticed it couldn't be locked and that someone else would be able to open it from outside, and since I was a woman traveling alone, it made me feel unsafe. I called the front desk, and they found me a room one floor up with a regular window. I was happy with my new room (although it appeared to be a bit smaller than the room I got on my first stay), so no complaints there. But I would advise the hotel to look into proofing the window on the 2nd floor, as it could compromise the safety of the guests staying there.

A great central hotel with...

Liked: The room was spacious and well-lit, the bed was big and comfortable. The area was central and within walking distance from Penn Station as well as other subway stations, but even when I walked alone at night, I didn't feel unsafe. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, and Times Square is about ten minutes away on foot. New York, and especially Manhattan, is quite noisy at all times, so the hotel provided earplugs in every room. I'm not a light sleeper, so I didn't use them, but it was good to have that as an option. I could see the top of the Empire State Building from my room, which was nice. I also stored my luggage with them for two nights. They gave a decent price ($10 per night). The staff was very friendly and helpful and helped me book a cab to the airport. Also, there are computers in the lobby for the use of the guests for free, and free Starbuck's coffee and Tazo tea in the lobby that guests can make for themselves at all times. They also sell food and drinks at the front desk, but those are quite expensive.
Disliked: The breakfast was a bit boring, and there weren't any vegetables.

Perfect overnight getaway in NYC

Liked: We have a big family and it's hard to find a single room in Manhattan that accommodates 6 or more people at an affordable price
Disliked: I didn't like that there wasn't valet service to park the car when we arrived to check in. It was a little chaotic trying to unload bags then get everyone inside the hotel. But the hotel does retrieve your car from the parking garage upon checkout. So that is a nice perk
