Liked: The location was great a lot of nice restaurants. I'm from Chicago but live in Minnesota so the vibe was right. Very accessible location. Hotel parking was the best choice for us. The staff on the first night was as helpful as he could have been at the time.
Disliked: I booked two rooms on booking.com with this hotel which came up as one booking and one price. When it was time to check in after an eight hour drive from Minnesota with 5 kids that's when the problem happened. The hotel had my one booking listed as two separate booking which is not how I booked it. Which caused me to be charged separate for each room instead of one total price. I didn't find out that this was an issue until I was charged for my first room and I had to ask what happened to room number 2. That was supposed to be under the same booking. First the staff member had to find it then he wanted to charge my card again but my bank wouldn't accept a back to back charged for the amount. The reason for the booking being separate was because the website asks who will be in the second room and I put my husbands name. We are a family of 7 so the hotel automatically suggested we get two rooms because the capacity is for 6. With all that said we ended up without a second room because my bank wouldn't allow the back to back charge. Even though I booked it as one price the hotel claims a policy doesn't allow them to fix the issue. I didn't get the deal I signed up for when I booked my stay. They said it was booking.coms responsibility not the hotels. And we crammed in one room payed the additional fees, lost out on the deal. We ended paying for the second room the next day full price no accomodations. So I would caution to book directly with this hotel. The hotel itself wasn't bad but if you're doing business with the third party too just like I am you can't just say it's your problem to the customer. That really didn't sit well with me and I don't know if I will ever book with this hotel while I have my family with me. I'm not sure about using booking.
