Hyatt Place Charlotte/University

The room was nice, clean, and comfy. Bathroom was nice. But there was no microwave in there for us to use. We had to go all the way to the bottom floor and use the public microwave that was hidden in a different room. The staff never really talked to us when we came in (except for when we were checking in). They didn’t seem helpful or very kind, especially the night staff. You have to pay $8 per person for breakfast when it’s literally just waffles in a bag, boxes of cereal, and a couple other better options.

Liked: How close it was to the PNC Pavilion.
Disliked: No microwave in the room to use. Couldn’t find ice machine. Had to pay $8 for the most basic and not the best breakfast options. Staff didn’t seem to care about us.

Disliked: The lady at the check in desk wasn’t nice and the bar was closed. We wanted to get a drink before going to a concert and couldn’t bc it was closed until the next day because it was just too much for her to do both.

Consistently excellent stay

Liked: This property is consistently clean and comfortable. This was my 4th or 5th stay. It is in a great location, free parking, pool, and gym. Great value! The common areas are always clean. The staff is really friendly. Everything is always in working order. It might sound basic but if you travel a lot you know that for a location to consistently provide this level of cleanliness and service is significant. I am not a big fan of the breakfast but it is typical hotel breakfast, not anything against this property in particular.
