Comfortable, centrally placed hotel for...

Liked: Good location within a few minutes of the town centre. Very friendly staff. We were able to park right outside. Comfortable room. We were up graded to a perfectly nice room but would not warrant the €180 it would normally be. We paid €100. Downstairs the building was very characterful.
Disliked: It’s a shame that the lovely central courtyard is used as a car park for a handful of cars rather than an outdoor seating and/or bar area. It could be a great place to sit in warm weather. What a waste!

Liked: Location but road system difficult and the hotel charged for parking
Disliked: Very dated and dull really in need of refurbishment. Nice building which with update could be much nicer. Corridor dark and dingy.

A comfortable hotel with excellent...

Liked: The rooms were comfortable. I had booked two "small" rooms, but ours were not small. I discovered when leaving that we had been upgraded at no extra charge. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere was that of a comfortable, country-house hotel. Despite being on a major traffic gyratory, and having a Japanese restaurant next door whose two extractor fans faced our room, it was amazingly quiet. The enclosed parking had easy access.
Disliked: The hotel is on the edge of the older part of the city (and was previously outside the built-up area). The surroundings are now rather run-down, with mainly fast food or ethnic restaurants. (I've nothing against ethnic food, but in Burgundy one wants to sample excellent Burgundian cuisine.) A good French restaurant was at least 20 minutes' walk away, as the nearest, Le National, which we'd enjoyed before, was closed the night of our stay.I thought 12 euors for the parking a bit steep.
