Liked: Hotel staff was professional; very prompt customer service; definitely an old time feel to this motel.
Disliked: The lighting in the room was very dim, giving the room a gloomy feel. I am one who likes things lit up.

We were updated to executive room for waiting. The bed seemed small. Did not like putting up a deposit for anything I might order. Close to Midland Theater - nice to walk there.

Liked: Couch; desk help was good. Beautiful place.
Disliked: 1 cup of coffee in the room. Door heard slamming in the hallways.

Booked this hotel because it was downtown, within walking distance of Power and Light District and Kansas City Music Hall. Great choice - you can definitely feel the history in the whole place. Beautiful architecture. It was a small room and bathroom but didn't spend much time in the room anyway and it was clean!

Liked: Very friendly, helpful staff.
Disliked: Small room and bathroom.

Liked: Cool old building and '30s art deco lobby was a nice step back in time.
Disliked: Rooms were very clean but extremely outdated. Air conditioning did not work well.Nice hotel for Kansas City standards, but should've been 3 1/2 stars, not 4.

We were in Kansas City for a business meeting and knew nothing about the city events. Hotel employee at the front desk was very informative about the local events happening on First Friday.

Liked: Fabulous art deco theme!
Disliked: No.

Wonderful - 4.5 out of 5

Liked: Staff was kind and courteous, downtown location was very convenient, complimentary wine/cheese tasting was fantastic, valet service was great, it's a nice place to stay for a couple on a getaway
Disliked: The water pressure for the shower/sink wasn't too great and a slow draining tub...other than that our stay was really great

Disliked: Very dirty!! The bathroom floor was sticky. No extra blankets in closet. We requested additional blankets, received them promptly however one was stained. Definitely, would NOT recommend. Rooms were very nosey due to traffic outside.

Liked: Location was great. Glad to see older building maintained.
Disliked: Staff did not take care of room issue as promised while we went out for evening. We returned late to room and then had to ask to get moved - turns out I like to have a functioning toilet. Lost 1hr of planned sleep as a result and staff was unapologetic

Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Anonymous Fri, 21 July 2017

Liked: Location.
Disliked: My "deal" turned into not so much of a deal. Had a tiny & filthy room, had 1maybe full size bed for two grown women. My deal ended up with excess of $20 of fees on top of room & tax, plus no one mentioned I'd have to pay $14-24 for parking. No breakfast.

Liked: View from the 18th floor. Very comfortable.
Disliked: Unless you know better, you end using their valet, which is terrible when you need to leave in a hurry. We parked 1/2 block from front door. On Sunday morning there was a long line of sorry guests waiting for valet. They should promote self-parking.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Anonymous Fri, 21 July 2017

Liked: This place has great character and is right next to Power&Light. The rooms were comfortable, staff friendly. Evidently new ownership and remodeling will be underway. I'm excited to stay again sometime to see what's being done! It needs a little help!
Disliked: The decor was odd for this hotel. A painted piano in the lobby that looked like it should belong in an elementary school, and murals on the walls that didn't fit the character of this hotel at all. The coffee area was unprepared and messy.
