Liked: Hotel staff was professional; very prompt customer service; definitely an old time feel to this motel.
Disliked: The lighting in the room was very dim, giving the room a gloomy feel. I am one who likes things lit up.

We were updated to executive room for waiting. The bed seemed small. Did not like putting up a deposit for anything I might order. Close to Midland Theater - nice to walk there.

Liked: Couch; desk help was good. Beautiful place.
Disliked: 1 cup of coffee in the room. Door heard slamming in the hallways.

Booked this hotel because it was downtown, within walking distance of Power and Light District and Kansas City Music Hall. Great choice - you can definitely feel the history in the whole place. Beautiful architecture. It was a small room and bathroom but didn't spend much time in the room anyway and it was clean!

Liked: Very friendly, helpful staff.
Disliked: Small room and bathroom.

Liked: Beds and pillows were comfortable. Valet staff was wonderful. Shuttle driver was helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Coffee shop staff were friendly and food was really good.
Disliked: Handicap elevator was filthy. Ice on every other floor was inconvenient. No soda machine anywhere. Coffee machine in room didn't work. Took 10 minutes for water in shower to get hot.

Liked: The staff was very nice. We loved our shuttle driver (older guy....our age), he was very accommodating. Spencer went out of his way to find us a luggage cart, apparently only two was actively being used. Bar tenders amazing!!!!!! Valet staff the best we've ever encountered. They really were polite, extremely nice, made us feel welcomed immediately. That team are your shining stars!
Disliked: The water pressure in the shower on the 19th floor was weak. The toilet paper holder didn't hold the paper roll very well. Bad design. Toilet roll flew off everytime you pulled off a piece. Just an annoyance. Severely disappointed there was no room service and no indication at time of booking there wouldn't be room service. Room was stuffy. I went down to desk at 9 am to get a couple more coffee packets and the clerk at the front desk wrote it down on a pad that I needed some.....saying it would be delivered. Two hours later, I called down to desk to inquire about coffee packets-she apologised and said she would tell the person again to bring them to me. Two hours later at 1 pm, I went down to the desk to ask again if I could have some coffee packets. The clerk (a different one than I talked to before) disappeared into a side room and popped out with coffee packets. Weird. Bad service for sure. Did not like restaurant menu. Too limited. Hopefully when room service starts, there will be "normal" choices.

Liked: Best location to stay in Kansas City. There is a supermarket near the hotel, which is convenient for me to buy food and drink. A room is big and comfortable.
Disliked: It would be better for the hotel to offer breakfast.

Kasey Mon, 19 December 2016

Liked: Bed was great. Rooms were nicely renovated. Front desk staff were very helpful despite the fact they were having to also serve as valet and bellhop the morning of our departure due to someone quitting onsite that morning.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the walls are pretty thin and you could hear everyone walking down the hall. Took a very long time for the shower water to heat up.

Disliked: Ice machine not on floor because of construction

Fair - 2.5 out of 5

Ryan Sat, 5 November 2016

Liked: Nice bed. Recently remodeled room, nice furniture and fixtures. Beautiful old apartment building turned into a supposedly upscale hotel.
Disliked: No internet, no mini-fridge or microwave in room. Active construction site well into the evening as the hotel is undergoing a renovation. That's fine, but everything was covered in sheetrock dust and smelled like burning wood. Price seemed about 100 bucks too high. Regretted not taking the better rate at the Aladdin.
