Liked: It was very clean and I'm fussy! The bed was very comfortable. The mirror cleared quickly due to being heated. The staff were great. The location was perfect for us, close enough to walk to and from the train station and also close enough to walk into the centre of town. We chose a cosy room as it is at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Our visit was in April, the heating was just right in the room and has always been good on other visits. I like the decor, it has a boutique hotel feel and some interesting objects and use of furniture.
Disliked: In this particular room, the toilet was separate (in a cupboard) and opened straight into the room, the door was noisy and the light came on automatically and took a while to go off after the door was closed and a lot of light escaped through the gaps, this wasn't great for the other person trying to sleep. I've stayed here a few times over the past 3 years, the bathroom/toilet layout was probably the worse one. There weren't any shelves to place toiletries near the sink. The throws and cushions over the bed are looking worn, I'm not a fan of these as they probably don't get washed between guests very often, i'd actually rather they weren't used. On previous visits, I thought it was good value but this time I thought it was a little bit expensive for midweek.
