Liked: Wonderful staff.
Doreen, Canfield, visiting Stephen Sondheim Theatre
We had a wonderful stay. Room was great and the location to get to almost any tourist attraction is perfect. I always love to stay at this hotel.
Liked: Staff was very helpful with questions about how to get to places, where to eat etc. - had a great stay.

A Great Times Square Option
Liked: You can't beat Hotel Edison's location or value. Our room, although a bit awkwardly configured, was quite spacious by NYC standards (was room 1828). Bathroom on the small side but very clean and lots of towels & toiletries provided. Hair dryer available on the shelf under the sink. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The king-size bed was very comfortable and bedding felt plush. Since this is a corner room, had lots of windows and natural light. The breakfast option was a bonus (bfast doesn't seem to be standard in NYC hotels), but prepare to feel like cattle going through the chute to pick it up!
Disliked: --The ice machine on the 18th floor was broken, and evidently has been for quite some time. It was bone dry, and although I reported it every day, nothing was done and I'm guessing it still hasn't been done. Their solution was to tell us to get ice from the 2nd floor, but our key card would not allow us to access the 2nd floor. Just fix or replace the ice machine already, Hotel Edison!!--Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but not, for some reason, the concierge desk personnel. I interacted with them three different times, and each time, they just couldn't be bothered and referred me to the main desk personnel. --I know you shouldn't expect much from the sofa bed, but ours was an old school one with a metal bar down the middle of your back. A new sofa bed or even just an updated mattress would be an improvement. --There's plenty of room for a dresser in the bedroom and it seems odd there isn't one.

You can’t beat your experience...
Liked: I have been staying at the Edison off and on for over 25 years. I love the location for the theatre and getting most any where with the ease of the subway lines close by! And I appreciate the grab and go breakfast and the hot breakfast for such a reasonable amount considering how prices have escalated in the last few years.
Disliked: I do wish I had a little refrigerator in the room but lots of hotels have eliminated that feature.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and did their best to change our room as the first one was tiny and the second one was dusty.
Disliked: The hotel is very dated. The carpets are lifting up and the furniture in our room was old and tacky with some of the veneer peeling off. The lamp shades were rickety and needs to be repaired. The bathroom was tiny and there were no hooks to hang up towels
