Hotel du Vin Birmingham

I have stayed in many Hotel du Vins over the years and slowly the food and service is going downhill at a couple of the venues. Breakfast both here and in the Exeter hotel was lukewarm with scrambled eggs cold and inedible. Buffet selection average and service average. Such a shame as it used to be excellent and the rooms are amazing.

Disappointing - I'm sure fine...

Liked: Great location - friendly check in - nice cocktails in the bar and service excellent
Disliked: Scaffolding outside room with workers looking straight into bathroom and bedroom meant windows couldn't be opened and blinds had to be down so dark and hot. Air con not making any difference to the temperature so uncomfortable. Staff on check out asked if I enjoyed my stay and I said yes but sleep not great with noise of building and banging corridor doors throughout the early hours. Got argued with about the start time of workers etc. Would suggest don't ask for feedback if you don't want it?

A comfortable and luxurious stay.

Liked: Elegant and stylish. Professional, polite, helpful and friendly staff. Exceptional breakfast. Very Comfortable bed and quiet room. Quality products.
Disliked: Dark in our bedroom but this was probably due to dark decor and scaffolding outside. Beautiful big bathroom but not much shelf space. A cabinet or unit would have made it perfect.

The hotel is perfectly located,...

Liked: The staff provided a cot, and a changing table and a nappy rubbish, that was more than we expected.
Disliked: The room and bathroom were very spacious, the bed was very comfortable, but there was few run down elements in the room, which was a pity.

Liked: Staff on arrival were lovely and so welcoming. The room exceeded our expectations for the price it was amazing
