Liked: Staff is very friendly and hotel is in a central location in old town within easy walk to most attractions in Bern.
Disliked: Family (interconnected) room is smaller than expected, could have at least looked onto the street side given the price, no view but that was not surprise. Rooms were not soundproof enough, could hear room nextdoor and water running down the pipes.

Bern is a great place to visit and the Baren Hotel is adequate and reasonably priced

Liked: The location is fine, a short walk from the main shopping area and market. Bern itself is amazing and we will definitely return. The parking offsite was easy and the staff was accommodating and helpful by placing a cone outside to hold the spot while we retrieved the car. The price of the hotel is reasonable and that is a big plus too.
Disliked: The Baren hotel could use a bit of updating - the rooms are a bit dark and small, although the rooms and the bathroom were very clean. The reception area is rather small and the breakfast area is quite tiny as well.
