The Spotlight on Hotel AKA NoMad

Design-Forward Comfort in the Heart of NoMad

Modern, stylish, and serene—Hotel AKA NoMad blends high-end design with residential comfort in one of Manhattan’s trendiest neighborhoods. Located on Madison Avenue in the city’s buzzing Design District, this sleek hotel is surrounded by top shopping, dining, and nightlife, all while offering a peaceful, upscale retreat from the urban energy outside.
With interiors designed by renowned architect Piero Lissoni, the atmosphere is clean, minimalist, and globally inspired. Think Japanese calm meets Scandinavian simplicity, with furnishings by artisans like Fantini and Porro. Whether you're staying a night or a week, the 178 rooms and suites offer a tranquil escape in the middle of it all.

Why Concert-goers love it

The hotel’s central location makes it a smart pick for concert-goers heading to venues in Midtown or downtown Manhattan. You’re minutes from subway lines and late-night ride shares are easy to grab from this well-lit, safe area. After the show, the peaceful, sound-insulated rooms are perfect for winding down. Plus, the 3:00 PM check-in gives you time to settle in before heading out, and 11:00 AM check-out means you can still sleep in a little after a late night.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends who want a stylish base for a music-filled getaway
- Solo travelers checking off that dream concert
- Couples turning a show into a romantic weekend
- Fans wanting a quiet, refined space to recharge
- Budget-conscious music fans who still want a touch of luxury (especially when booking early)

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no full restaurant on-site, the NoMad neighborhood is packed with walkable dining options ranging from late-night eats to upscale bites. Breakfast is available in the lounge area—ideal for those slow mornings after a show. Room service is available, though not 24/7, so plan ahead if your post-concert snack cravings hit late.

Nightlife Options

You’re in one of NYC’s most vibrant districts, surrounded by cocktail bars, speakeasies, and lounges. While there’s no live music on-site, you’ll find several bars within blocks that feature local acts or DJs. Prefer something more relaxed? The hotel’s elegant atmosphere is perfect for a quiet drink before or after the show.

What People Say

Guests praise the clean, modern design and exceptionally quiet rooms despite the central location. Many love the friendly staff, the comfortable beds, and the ease of getting around. The overall vibe feels more like a chic residence than a typical hotel—perfect for travelers who want a more personal, boutique experience.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms can be on the smaller side—normal for Manhattan—but the smart layout and decor more than make up for it. Others wish for more extensive food options on-site, but the surrounding area offers plenty of alternatives.

The Bottom Line

With its calm, stylish aesthetic and unbeatable central location, Hotel AKA NoMad is a top pick for concert-goers looking to enjoy the city by night and unwind in comfort by day.

Liked: I was not happy with my hotel experience with my family.Could not heat up/warm my baby's milk after checking in with them when I arrived. They told me I didn't have a microwave in the hotel. I mean the hotel booking showed I had a microwave to imagine that i didn't have one was not good at all!!!They dont sell anything like snacks or milk I had to go to 7 eleven!!So horrible for a nice hotel its SAD
Disliked: Not having a microwave to warm up my baby foodThere was no crib for my baby, yet I called before coming to make sure my baby crib was there!!!The gentleman at the reception when I checked in said that they were all dirty!!! Like u knew it needed one i booked the hotel room a day before. Its very SAD!!!! now my baby had to squeeze in my bed it's not healthy and very annoying Wouldn't stay Here AGAIN!!!

Avoid Giorgio

Liked: The location is great. It is in the middle of the city, allowing to walk most of central New York by walking. You won't need metro for many major locations around Manhattan.
Disliked: From the beginning of our stay, we encountered ongoing challenges primarily due to the attitude of the Front Office Manager, whose name was, I believe, Giorgio (or something similar). Unfortunately, his consistent answer to every request seemed to be a firm “no,” without much effort to find a solution. Here is a brief summary of our experience:Upon arrival, after a 16-hour flight, we were told there was no reservation under our name. It took more than five minutes of checking and us showing our own confirmation email before the reservation — which was for 8 nights — was finally located. We were informed that the room was not ready and asked to return after 15:00, which is understandable. However, the communication could have been more courteous. The bathroom in the room we were initially given was extremely small (approximately 5m²), which made it very uncomfortable for a family of four. When we raised our concerns, we were told that all double rooms had the same type of bathroom — a claim that turned out to be false. On the 5th night, a different front office manager — friendly and solution-oriented — helped us find a room in the same price category that actually matched the bathroom shown in the reservation photos. We were finally able to move into a more suitable room for the remaining 3 nights. When we asked to store some extra luggage we had purchased during our trip, Giorgio again refused and informed us that storage would incur an additional fee. Unfortunately, the room was already so small that we had no space for the new items, and ended up navigating around them for the rest of our stay.Overall, our stay improved significantly once we began interacting with other staff members who were more helpful and accommodating. For a more peaceful experience, I would recommend avoiding interactions with Giorgio if possible.
