Liked: The room was lovely and we were upgraded at no extra cost.The bar area was lovely and relaxing ,staff were very friendly and more than helpful.

Liked: It looks really impressive and was very clean and tidy, the suite bathroom was abit dated and could do with a refresh. It showed how much it is used. Bed was comfortable and it was fairly quiet considering the number of travellers staying for early morning flights.
Disliked: The parking is a ripe off and should be mentioned before booking not after you’ve committed to the booking. Really taking advantage of the location and number of travelling visitors. Shame on this company who runs it as theres nothing special about it. The reception staff looked miserable im sorry to say and initially impatient with us as they couldn’t find us on their system and immediately presumed we were in the wrong hotel, the presumption was incorrect and when eventually found us blamed us for them not finding us on their system very poor on their part. They also didn’t appreciate us asking for more tea bags and at the time didn’t think to ask if we had enough milk and sugar and were put out by the request. Sorry but refresher course in customer service required for all members covering that evening. Definitely didn’t feel welcomed.

Liked: Clean rooms, comfortable bed, effective black out curtains, very friendly and helpful staff, tea/coffee station included an earl grey and a green tea, HDMI port on the TV was easily accessible to connect laptop, air-con worked very well during a heat wave and although upon arrival it was auto set to heating mode option only a quick call through to reception rectified this in moments - perfect service. I didn't need it but noted the room had an ironing board/iron for those that would. The bathroom in my accessible room also included a wet room shower with shower chair that was very comfy and even fitted me nicely, a 19st person wide at the hip so kudos there! And using this shower area didn't leave the whole floor wet, the curtain had drainage area worked well so lovely! Staff were also courteous towards people staying having food delivered/brought in (even offered to heat up some food I brought back from a meal out for me) with any mentions of the hotel bar and restaurant being polite, fair and not too pushy which was refreshing. The location was also perfect for us while visiting family in Crawley.
Disliked: The accessible room I was in could've done with more room to manoeuvre my chair and consideration given to where moveable items of furniture were placed (e.g. a small armchair and low table my friend/carer helped me move that initially entirely blocked me putting my chair beside the bed - in future I would just ask to have these items simply removed as they weren't needed, but didn't think to at the time) that may get in the way for a wheelchair user. Think turning circles when designing rooms/layouts!The bathroom door could've done with having the type of door that slides into the wall given the room size, particularly for any wheelchair user who is not ambulant (I can walk a little with crutches) as I'm not sure how easily I could've gotten my chair all the way in and out of there. Adding to the bathroom, I wouldn't have been able to get my wheelchair right up to the sink with knees under the counter as in some accessible rooms. I relied on my friend putting the little chair in there at times to perch in front of the sink.Car parking was expensive (understandable near Gatwick though...) and no reductions for blue badge holders, which we solved by parking off site.I would've appreciated a small fridge in the room. I always find a lack of this frustrating.
