Holiday Inn Express Columbus Downtown By IHG

This hotel was close to the venue that we visited, and that is the reason why I booked here. The hotel itself is adequate for an overnight stay. I felt that the front desk staff were not as friendly, or as helpful, as they could have been. No mention was made about the parking situation at time of check-in. I paid $5 for parking, and wasn't even parked on the actual hotel lot. Doubtful I would stay here again.

Liked: The beds were awesome and very comfortable!
Disliked: Not advised about the overflow parking off of the lot. Arrived after 10:30pm after the concert - there was no parking available in the lot.

Liked: Bathroom clean; beds soft.
Disliked: Could NOT access HBO channels (one was out while other seemed to be public access); children ran through the halls until 1 AM; walls so thin could hear conversations in ANY room; room not refreshed while out, despite being asked; asked for towels three times (had to find them myself).

Advertising as a newly remodeled facility our room did not seen newly remodeled, with the water stains in the bathroom. The door did not have a latch to go across so that let the maid in without anything stopping them and we were not checked out yet. Not sure if I would go back to this location. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful.

Liked: Friendly service at the check in desk; decent breakfast.
Disliked: Water stained bathroom; cleaner came in to clean, only knocking once, and before we could answer used the key to get into the room - we were not even checked out yet. There was no top latch on the door so it could not be opened.

Super pleased and we WILL...

Liked: We could literally walk out our door and the pool was right there! It was fabulous!
Disliked: We loved everything about the property. Sooo convenient!!

Disliked: Carpet was coming up in room, breakfast was pretty empty when we arrived at 8:45 ( service was supposed to continue to 9:30) - even the cooler with milk and yogurt was empty, only had 2 towels when reserved for 3 people, had to ask for additional towels, paid for room in full but asked for another $100 advance on our credit card, additional $10 charge for a parking spot. Very disappointing.

Liked: The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were spacious, and the location is great.
Disliked: This is a very old, retrofitted property. It is not the quality I’m used to when staying in a Holiday Inn Express. It’s just kind of dingy all over. They use those ultra white LED bulbs throughout the property, which are so unnatural and really make everything look depressing. It’s so easy to buy the warm LED bulbs for the same price. The floors in the common areas of the hotel were dirty and needed to be mopped. The rooms were clean, but not much effort was put into the finishes, so they just looked messy. The staff were very friendly, but this property needs a major facelift before I would stay here again.
