Kimpton Theta New York - Times Square By IHG

I could say it was a bit pricy, but considering that this is Manhattan it should go without saying that any decent hotel will be expensive, so I will not count that as a negative point. Among the positive points: it is in a great location, the room was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the staff was friendly (so much so that the bellman practically grabbed the luggage cart out of my hands when he saw me starting to push it, because he wanted to help me with it...of course, I'm sure the fact that me doing it myself meant that he wouldn't get a tip had nothing to do with it - ha, ha!). I can't think of anything negative to say, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I loved this hotel and the perfect location - it was to everything that we wanted to do in New York City for the weekend. Staff were very attentive and Larry was wonderful at making suggestions for restaurants nd tours. Would come back again in a heart beat.

Liked: Location; staff; room accommodations and cleanliness.
Disliked: First night the shower just took quite a bit of time to heat up.

Liked: The most comfortable beds and the best coffee. Even better, every morning the coffee is free between 6-9.
Disliked: Only issue is the security deposit. It's not mentioned when you book and there's nothing in the terms and conditions but when you arrive they want to take a security deposit on a credit card. And it's not a small amount. $500 held on your card is a big dent on your spending and I don't understand why. I'm not going to wreck the room and they have my details if there's a problem. A lot of hotels do this, not just the Kimpton. It really needs to be highlighted before you book.

Excellent hotel in the heart...

Liked: Excellent location in the heart of Times Square. Easy walk to metro and parks.Staff were all very friendly and reactive.
Disliked: The light in the bathroom would not turn off.Having requested additional coffee pods - these did not arrive. A second request (the next morning) was required and they then arrived within a very short period of time.

Nice hotel with some disappointments.

Liked: Room was comfortable bed was excellent. Breakfast was nice. Hotel was close to many stores and attractions. Great day with the various vendors outside the hotel to purchase food and gifts from.
Disliked: I didn't like the first room I was given that looked like a closet. The window was small and the view was of walls just awful, this made the room dark. I immediately went back downstairs and requested another room, I was told there weren't any other rooms available. I told the front desk I'm paying to much money to be in a closet with a wall to wall view. This was unacceptable for me. I did get placed in another room that was acceptable. My party of 7 was turned away at the bar on the roof which was disappointing since we were in New York celebrating my Son's wedding. We called Lyfts because the cost to use the hotels cars service cost at least $20.00 more, that was disappointing.
