Great hotel in busy area

Liked: I really liked this hotel. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Always greeted me as I entered and left hotel. Room was a very nice size and the bathroom was spacious for NYC. Bed was comfortable. In-room frig, coffee maker. Supplied bottle water and a few snacks. Nice restaurant and bar in lobby. Little snack and gift area was nice.Location close to Penn Station, MSG, and not too far from theater area. Easy subway access.
Disliked: While hotel was great, area up close to 8th Ave was very busy and tended to be a gathering spot for some questionable activity. I was traveling alone and did feel a bit uncomfortable walking in that area at night. There are numerous other hotels and nice apartments on the same block, so not a "bad" area, just that one little spot.

Liked: there was a fridge in a room and it worked noiselessly; a window view from 1970-x movies)
Disliked: homeless persons living near the hotel entrance

Nice hotel, good central location!

Liked: Staff & facilities were great. Quiet hotel despite its central location.
Disliked: This block has a problem with homeless/drug use on the sidewalk. Not the hotel’s fault but it does make entering/exiting on foot uncomfortable.
