The Spotlight on Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea

Comfort and Convenience in NYC’s Flower District

Modern and welcoming, Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea offers a stylish stay in the heart of Manhattan. Located in the historic Flower District, this hotel places you within walking distance of iconic New York attractions like Madison Square Garden, Times Square, and the Empire State Building. With spacious, tech-friendly rooms and a relaxed vibe, it's a great home base for your next concert adventure.

Why Concert-goers love it

The location can’t be beat—just a short stroll to Madison Square Garden and other major concert venues. The hotel is also close to subway lines and late-night transport options, making it easy to get back after a show. Guests appreciate the 12:00 pm checkout, which means you can sleep in after a late night. The area is lively but the hotel itself is in a quieter niche, offering a peaceful recharge space.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a central, walkable base
  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list concert
  • Couples planning a fun music-filled weekend
  • Fans who want a quiet post-show wind down
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality and location

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s on-site restaurant serves up a hearty breakfast, perfect for refueling after a late night. While there's no full-service restaurant for late-night bites, each room includes a microwave and fridge—handy for post-concert snacks. You’ll also find several restaurants and 24-hour eateries within easy walking distance.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn’t host its own music nights, you’re steps from Chelsea’s bars and Manhattan’s vibrant nightlife. Whether you're in the mood for a rooftop cocktail lounge, a dive bar, or a jazz club, there are plenty of great spots nearby. For a low-key evening, relax in your room with smart TV access and city views.

What People Say

Guests rave about the unbeatable location, especially those heading to events at Madison Square Garden. Many love the clean, spacious rooms and helpful staff. The in-room amenities like microwaves and mini-fridges earn praise, especially for those staying a few nights. The Wi-Fi is reliable, and the lobby is a calm spot to regroup before heading out.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviews mention that the elevators can be a bit slow during peak times, and a few guests found the rooms on lower floors to be a touch noisy from street activity. Still, most agree the hotel offers great value for the location.

The Bottom Line

If you're hitting up a concert in Manhattan and want a central, comfortable stay with easy venue access, Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea hits all the right notes.

Luckily just for one night

Liked: The water machine was broken, no one fixed it. The breakfast didn’t have much choice, only bagels, toast, no eggs….. cost $21. It was ripped off.
Disliked: Breakfast, hard to control room temperature

Terrible, scary and dangerous

Liked: Location
Disliked: Both the elevators were not functioning. We were stranded on the 21st floor with no food. Staff was not at all helpful or supportive. I had to walk down 21 floors on a narrow and steep stairwell which made my knee go worse as I already suffer from a cartilage abrasion. Hilton should be compensating me for the pain, panic, discomfort and careless attitude. They should be fined for not bringing it to the Booking site notice that they were only functioning with one elevator, and that too broke down with no back up!You don’t expect a brand like Hilton to ill treat their guests and have no regard towards their safety. That hotel is a mess and a major fire hazard.

Good location, but room security...

Liked: The location near the train station was the reason I chose this property, despite mixed reviews. The room was quite large by New York standards.
Disliked: As a solo traveler, I can’t recommend this property. It’s an older building with things you might expect, like a noisy air conditioner and stained carpets. But my main issue was being woken up before 9 am by someone opening my door without knocking. When I shared this with the front desk, there was no apology or empathy. Instead, I was told they’d “never experienced a problem with this” as if they didn’t believe my experience. With so many similar hotels on the same street, I’ll choose somewhere else next time.

Good

Liked: The staff was very nice.
Disliked: The only thing that was troublesome was the elevators not working. Only one worked the majority of the time and both went out at one point. It made it very difficult for my 76 year old mother to get to the room.

Good

Liked: Excellent location, close to the subway and many interesting places.
Disliked: There are few elevators for so many apartments and for the employees at service as well, so it usually takes a long time to move from one floor to another. The included breakfast could have some eggs and bacon too(they are charged separately).

Disappointing for a Hilton Hotel

Liked: Great Location , close to the Subway, easy late check out and there is an ATM downstairs. The room has a microwave which is handy.
Disliked: The ice & water machines weren’t working on all floors, only one lift was working and the other stopped so we had to take the stairs, the Breakfast wasn’t advertised as Continental so very disappointing and misleading , the aircon is our room was noisy and we couldn’t sleep or hear the tv , there is also no safe in the room. Bathroom needs updating.
