Cute But Hard Pass On...

Liked: The suite was aesthetically very well designed. Nice combination of mid century modern and contemporary. The room was very clean.
Disliked: Two things. The first was a small thing that wouldn’t keep me from rebooking: no outlet near the bed to charge a phone or tablet. This could easily be fixed by purchasing lamps with usb ports. The second was a huge problem. The pool was not monitored by staff at all. There were people smoking cigarettes and weed both days we were there. By 3p each day the pool was pretty full and they were not hotel guests; which wouldn’t be an issue except that they stayed partying until well after the pool closed. I finally messaged the front desk at 11 to turn the music down. People stay outside loudly partying until midnight. Clearly the neighborhood has figured out that the hotel doesn’t monitor who comes in and out and have turned it into their free neighborhood pool.Had I known I would not have spent the extra money to get the suite with the pool view facing the inner courtyard.Such a cute spot but that they allow it to become a trashy party without any regard to paying guests will keep me from booking again or recommending to my friends.

Terrible experience, worse staff

Disliked: The hotel was under construction, something that was not relayed on booking.com. My husband and I checked in to our room, which was in the thick of the construction area and our room didn’t even have a number on it, just a piece of paper taped to the window. The room was small and extremely cold (it was freezing in houston and the window heater could not keep up). The sheets on the bed were hard and thin and there was no comforter, just a paper thin blanket. Needless to say we were uncomfortable all night, but this isn’t even the worst part. The next morning we were awoken at 6:45 to construction workers stomping up and down the stairs and talking loudly. Still not the worst part. At 7am they began HAMMERING and SAWING literally right next to our room. WHAT! I understand being under construction, and they were just doing their job, but the hotel should not have allowed anyone to book. OR maybe not put us in a room right next to the construction site??? I called the front desk to express my grievances and the guy at the counter blew me off and said I’d need to wait for his manager to come in at 10, that he wasn’t authorized to do anything (like literally it’s your job to help guest?). Needless to say, we checked out before 9am, even though we had booked an additional night. We called back to speak to the manager, who still wasn’t there at 3pm, but the girl at the front desk was a little more sympathetic and decided to call the manager for us and relay the message. The managers response to her? “The construction didn’t start until 8am”. I’m sorry, again, WHAT! I have a time stamped video of sawing and hammering at 7:16am and you’re telling me I’m lying instead of fixing the problem?? Worst hotel stay, even worse staff. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
