We stayed at Healds Hall Hotel as we were going to a gig nearby. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and even offered to help when my taxi didn't turn up. Room was comfortable and warm. It was a fab overall stay. Breakfast was cooked to perfection the next day. My only recommendation would be to inform guests of feather bedding as I have an allergy and woke up with a tight chest the next morning.

Liked: Food was ok had evening meal.
Disliked: Room was dated and no aircon , warm night window wide open and a poor fan provided. Didn't sleep well.Breakfast was slow and cold, coffee wasn't good.

Liked: We enjoyed dinner and breakfast (it was a one night stay to be close to family).
Disliked: Bedrooms need updating.

A great hotel, conveniently located...

Liked: The room was clean and had everything we needed for our staff. The breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared. The best hotel in the area!
Disliked: Given the space in the car park, I would have expected the hotel to have provided car charging points.

Conveniently situated and clean hotel...

Liked: The hotel was very conveniently situated in small but lovely grounds and was extremely clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food at dinner and breakfast was very good.
Disliked: There was a wedding at the hotel on the night we stayed and some of the guests were a little inconsiderate in regard to the amount of noise they were making outside at gone midnight. I know this isn't the fault of the hotel and I don't mind a bit of chatter but there was a very loud group directly below our window - we were on the 2nd floor - and when they started swearing loudly at 12.30 am I'd had enough as I just couldn't get to sleep. I rang down to reception to ask hotel staff if they could politely ask the guests to keep the noise down. We were told on arrival that reception was manned 24/7 but nobody picked up the phone. I was actually getting dressed to go down and find a staff member when finally, about 12.40 am the guests disappeared inside.Whilst food quality was good, the service was a bit hit and miss, for example, we had to remind the staff member on breakfast duty that we hadn't ordered our breakfast (he laughed and commented that he thought he'd taken our order) and we had to ask for fresh milk with our hot drinks.
