Kelsie P, Hull, visiting John Smith's Stadium Mon, 27 June 2022

We stayed at Healds Hall Hotel as we were going to a gig nearby. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and even offered to help when my taxi didn't turn up. Room was comfortable and warm. It was a fab overall stay. Breakfast was cooked to perfection the next day. My only recommendation would be to inform guests of feather bedding as I have an allergy and woke up with a tight chest the next morning.

Liked: Lovely staff; nice breakfast and nice room. Was lovely and warm too.
Disliked: None. Would highly recommend this hotel. Not a bad point but just a recommendation to tell guests that you use feather bedding as I have an allergy and woke up with a tight chest.

Not the worst, not the...

Liked: Modern, good location, lovely staff
Disliked: No air con, top floor was ridiculously hot. Restaurant was lovely but the fish is way overpriced for a small piece of fish, 4 asparagus spikes, 6 capers and a few tiny squares of smoked salmon was over £23. You'd expect at least some spuds or salad with it. Had to send a glass of white wine back as it was room temperature, they did change it for a cold one but at almost £9 for a glass you expect it to be cold. The cooked breakfast was nice, very limited menu. The continental breakfast was rubbish. The table was a mess, very limited selection. Yes we came down at 9.30 and breakfast only served until 10am but you expect a decent selection.

A flawless stay with outstanding...

Liked: Checked in late, but the staff went above and beyond to get me food even after the kitchen had closed. The room was spotless and comfortable, and every member of staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be staying here again!
Disliked: Honestly, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property. Everything met my expectations.

Lovely listed building, amazing friendly...

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.The food was divine and well presented The room was lovely ( I booked a small double ), which was cosy, and the original beams made it look authentic. Good choice of refreshments left in the room.
Disliked: The room was very warm as we visited while the English weather was giving us a treat for a change! There was no air con, but I presume this was because it's a listed building. Only 2 very small windows to open, which was not great as they had a function on both nights we stayed and we could hear this until early hours. No curtains, only blinds, so the light came in the room so hard to sleep at times. The shower water pressure dropped at times too, this i presume was when others were using the facilities in their rooms.
