The Fawlty Towers vibe was...

Liked: Lots of character. Lovely setting.New manager was friendly & helpful.
Disliked: Not knowing that the rooms only get serviced on the 3rd day.Room 37 smelled unpleasant.The dining room waiting staff were inexperienced.Needing to give 72 hours notice to dine there.

Liked: Easy.to find,.free parking.Good size room beautiful garden views. French style furnishings. Wooden shutters to windows. Warm and clean. Standalone bath & double shower in modern bathroom. Fresh clean bath towels and extremely comfortable bed. Convenient gym and pool in site.
Disliked: This can't be helped..The room at the top of the stairs got to hear discussions going on in the reception area and all passing those on their way to their rooms.The façade to the left of the main building looks a little tired.

Pleasant

Liked: Bed was comfortable and room very spacious. Pool and jacuzzi was pleasant.
Disliked: Breakfast room could do with refresh. Much of the hotel is now dated

Peaceful and comfortable.

Liked: The room was comfortable and clean, we had exceptionally large windows looking out to beautiful greenery. The leisure facilities were perfect, a small but well-equipped gym, sauna, steam and lovely pool and jacuzzi with plenty of natural light and windows to the trees surrounding. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The decor is slightly dated but it definitely has charm and we’ll be coming back for sure. It’s also only a 3 min drive to the town centre with shops and restaurants. I came to get some writing done, this was well achieved in the peaceful hotel.
Disliked: Nothing

Don’t bother

Liked: Close to the location that we needed to be at
Disliked: Outdated, room was damp, wallpaper coming off walls, and foisted smell everywhere you went. In need of new mattresses, in total over the weekend had 5 hours sleep, at 2 am Saturday I was looking for another place to stay.Totally not worth the price.

Disappointing. We retuned after enjoying...

Disliked: From previous visit the property has become run down .. breakfast was shambolic and poor quality.
