Very good

Liked: Location and quietness
Disliked: Bathroom had a leak somewhere, the floor was always wet. No shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Glad I bought my own. Wardrobe too small for two people and no dressing table for partner

Enjoyable stay in a fascinating...

Liked: We had our (large) dog with us and, as well as being generally friendly and helpful, the staff couldn't have done more for 'Bruno'. Food was good quality and the terrace / garden area was very imaginative, with small alcoves to sit in, thus shaded from sun or rain, as well as tables in the open. The room, in the old coach house, was large enough and well equipped, with a good shower, and my partner - who knows about these things - says we have never been anywhere cleaner! The restaurant, in the fascinating old mill, is accessed via steep stairs, but anyone with limited mobility was catered for in the bar at ground level and the staff were very alert to that possibility. The grounds, front and back, were very pleasant to walk around and the gardener was very chatty and sociable, typical of the staff in general.
Disliked: If you really want me to find a negative, the coffee could have been better prepared, stronger and a bit hotter. The page is blank apart from that.

Excellent location, lovely hotel, super...

Liked: Great communication from my booking via booking.com as had some questions directly with the hotel which they answered very swiftly. Very efficient professional check in and shown to our room. Room was very clean.
Disliked: No window in bathroom which with the small extractor struggled to cope with the steam from two showers. This left the hotel room damp also.

Exceptional

Liked: We had a lovely 3 night stay here in the Oak Tree room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice at breakfast, including a full English, eggs anyway and smoked salmon and there is a good menu available in the restaurant too. Lovely grounds and not too far from the coast.

Bad

Liked: The hotel on beautiful grounds, a lovely location if you are looking to be out in the country side.
Disliked: We got up this morning at went down for our breakfast, the breakfast was beautifully laid out - the yogurt and fruit was lovely! My husband had a full English breakfast, which has since made him sick. The eggs were very “snotty” and overall it has since made him very sick on our journey home - and still 3 days later. We found one member of front of house to be extra extremely rude, we booked through booking.com and booked to pay at the hotel. Whilst eating breakfast with many other couples in the breakfast room, a member of staff shouted across another couple whom she was serving - that we hadn’t paid for our stay. As you’d expect all eyes turned to the two of us.This was something that could have easily been said privately.

Had a good stay at...

Liked: Staff were very friendly and kind. When I asked for half portion at dinner, saying I didn’t mind paying full price, they charged exactly half!!
Disliked: Nothing really
