Could do better!

Liked: Shower compartment in need of renovation (black mould). No alternative to drench shower - not ideal. A 2nd bedside light would have been preferable especially as no bedside switch for main lights. However, staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast excellent.

Lovely Location, nicely done rooms...

Liked: The setting is beautiful, the breakfast was generous, it was clean and the rooms pleasant. It was lovely and quiet. The bathroom was really clean with a good sized shower.
Disliked: Some of the staff were a bit rude, and the bed was really uncomfortable. The springs on the mattress were broken. The restaurant was seriously overpriced and really it's the only option around if you want to have a drink. The menu had very standard offerings and for the price was pretty mediocre in quality

We would visit again, but...

Liked: Friendly staff, dinner & breakfast very good, beautiful setting
Disliked: Room was a bit dated & bathroom was in need of re-furbishment. Shower was luke warm.

Lovely location but our stay...

Liked: We had visited before and we like the venue and location very much.
Disliked: Firstly, having stayed in many hotels over the years this was the worst bed we have ever had and hence little sleep. This wasn’t down to a poor mattress but the bed itself which needs a good overhaul or replacing. Every move came with creaks and thoughts of it collapsing,Secondly, at breakfast most of the items for a full English were cold. We did point this out to one of the staff who following our comments took items away which came back steaming hot. The food was cooked well and tasted nice but just cold.

Very friendly staff, comfortable stay,...

Liked: We arrived in the dark and so couldn't fully appreciate the magnificence of the property and the amenities. The staff were extremely friendly and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal.
Disliked: The location is a bit tricky to find in the dark, down little country roads, and you have to trust Sat Nav
