Hartwood Hall by Greene King Inns

We only stayed two out...

Liked: Check in was fine. The meal in the evening was ok. The room was very clean but there were road works right outside it was a very busy noisy road and the room was small and hot. We had read revues after we booked concerning the noise but on the first night it was terrible.
Disliked: We requested a quiet room on booking but were given a room closest to the road . The room was very small too hot and the bathroom was small. The room itself was very clean. The lady there does a very good job.

Liked: Clean Good bed.
Disliked: Window closed on arrival so the room was extremely hot and stuffy. Room very small and little light coming through window. Needed window open all the time and have the fan running.

Kind, welcoming and friendly.

Liked: We didn’t actually end up staying at Hartwood Hall as our room had been flooded but the lovely manager Nathalie contacted us as we were leaving home to inform us and let us know about availability in a nearby hotel. We booked that hotel and Nathalie said she would reimburse our Hartwood stay but because we had then had to book so last minute at the alternative hotel it had cost more so she kindly gave us a free meal at Hartwood on our first night to make up the difference. All staff were super friendly and knew in advance about our circumstances. Food was lovely.

Superb

Our stay was okay, but...

Liked: The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was also very good, plus we ate in the restaurant one night and that was very good too.
Disliked: The room was okay, but very small and not the cleanest. It only had a very small window opening and was unbearably hot during the night. We could also hear a lot of noise from the main road outside during the night.

Bed and bath rooms a...

Liked: Perfect location for what we wanted. Handy to have the pub for food and drinks, with the accommodation in a separate building, so not affected by pub noise; although some road traffic noise at times.Excellent breakfast and the staff were always friendly and attentive.
Disliked: The room and bathroom were a bit on the small side; larger guest might find it a bit tight. I couldn’t get the tv to work but didn’t report until morning as it was late when I tried it. Everything else worked fine including the shower.Brew facilities were provided but only tea, no biscuits!

Hospitable , friendly staff make...

Liked: Excellent food served by friendly staff, the menu offered great choice. Had breakfast twice, an evening meal and Sunday lunch everything served hot and very tasty.
Disliked: Room was a little dark . This was because of trees that needed pruning back. Management aware.....

Exceptional

Excellent stay overall, only complaint...

Liked: Room adequate pleasant, all necessary facilities provided for short stay. Clean tidy, the food provided excellent, and all the staff were exceedingly polite, helpful and attentive to provide first class service.
Disliked: Central heating constantly on although the thermostat was turned to off. The room was overly warm, felt similar to walking into a sauna causing problems when trying to sleep.
