Really great place to stay to experience all the fun that Newport KY has to offer. There is so much to do here; we will be back and we will stay at the Hampton.
Liked: Very clean, very well designed and decorated. Great location for all the fun things in Newport. About two blocks from the levee, literally at the entrance to BB Riverboats and a stones' throw to the Newport Aquarium. Staff was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was more substantial than most. Some rooms do have a view of the Ohio River.

Hotel room was decent for an affordable price. Comfy bed and the fridge+microwave was nice to have. Convenient location if you're not terrified of heights (we walked across the bridge to get to downtown Nati). One huge downer is the very, VERY thin walls. Our neighbors kept us up all night and not in the good way! Also, there's a 1$ shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes. All in all, I would stay here again if needed.
Liked: Convenient location.
Disliked: Thin walls.

The price was great - should have known better. The room stunk. The bed springs were pushing through the mattress; the floor strip that was supposed to be between the carpet and the bathroom was missing; nails were sticking up. Spider webs in the corners. We would have tried to find another room but we came to see a concert and it was to late - just a really bad room!

Staff helpful, knew we were running late for our event and worked very quickly to get us checked in to our rooms. Rooms clean. Will stay here again.

Liked: Older gentleman, believe he was a manager was amazing, worked the morning of aug 9 . Extremely Friendly! From one hotel worker to another, this was a great stay. As i sat in the breakfast area drinking my coffee i could over hear how pleasant the breakfast attendant was, just happy to help in any way he can. Thats a TEAM! You make do with what ya got and i was happy with it :) if i come back to this beautiful newport area, i will be sure to stay at this beautiful and clean hotel. Very impressed with how things were done throughout this pandemic.

Clean hotel. Horrible management and...
Liked: Property was updated and clean
Disliked: Elevator was broken and staff did not disclose, my father who is handicapped had to use fire stairs whole visit. Hvac was broken on roof ,making hallways extremely hot. Office manager told us these weren?t his problem.The worst part of the visit was two men getting into a fist fight while we were outside trying to enjoy a meal. The two men flipped a table and fell at our feet. Afterwards the man who was bloody followed everyone around trying to make conversation. He then wandered around the front lobby drunk and bloody asking for a towel. He was still wandering around when we went to our room. Who knows how long he wandered around the property.Next morning at checkout I explained our disappointment with our stay to which the office manager Mitch apologized and said it was the night persons fault because he was a new staff member. I asked Mitch to refund my stay (A Hampton Inn policy, if you are unhappy with your stay) he then immediately became rude and said that these things were out of his control so he couldn?t issue a refund. He directed me to contact the GM or the hotel operations director.I contacted the GM (GARY), he laughed when I explained the situation, asked what I wanted, I stated a refund to which he said ?seriously?, he stated he would talk to the operation director and call me back the next day.I did not hear from him so I called back and they said he was out for two days, He never returned my call.I did speak with Valerie the operations manager in charge of the hotel. She apologized and said she would contact the hotel owners to request a refund for me, she stated she would call me back with in 30 mins. That was over a week ago, never heard from her and she won?t return my call.I contacted corporate, they opened a Case and said the hotel or corporate would contact me in 72 hours. No one contacted me, I reached out to corporate again, they blamed booking.com and said call them for a refund.

Liked: The location was great. In walking distance of alot of attractions and places to dine. The staff went above and beyond of my expectations. Especially, Lauren. She was AWESOME. I plan on visiting and staying again in the near future.
Disliked: Limited breakfast items. Due to the covid19 and social distancing. Otherwise, everything else was great.
