This facility was well below what I have come to expect from previous stays at Hampton Inns. Unmotivated staff at the reception desk, used soap from the previous guest left in the shower and sub par air conditioner. It was not extremely hot (about 78 degrees) and my room AC had a hard time cooling the room below 76 degrees. I was also assigned a smoking suite and had to move to a standard non smoking room at my original rate.
Liked: Quiet Hotel
Disliked: Below average staff, greeting and appearance

Mixed. Close to Med Center....
Liked: Stayed two nights. First night, I arrived late but called for late check-in approval, which the manager granted. I was in Houston Medical Center for 2 days of medical appointments- part of long-term post operation follow-up to surgery previously done in the Medical Center. I Checked in and, in my room, I found a candy wrapper on the floor next to the bed. Then I turned back the covers and saw bugs- small insects under a pillow. By then It was late (after midnight); I had just driven for 3 hours; I was exhausted; and I did not want to risk disturbing other guests at that hour. I waited until the next morning to involve or notify the manager of bugs in my room. I spent the night trying to get sleep, or rest, lying on top of the bed spread without turning back the covers. I wore my pants, a Bug Shield sweatshirt (hood covering my head), and socks. I did not get much rest. The next morning after I showered I noticed and photographed a few small bugs on the bottom of the bath tub. I went to the front desk and told the manager (a young lady named Haley, I believe) all of the above about what I found and my experience in my room, as well as the purpose of my 2-day stay for medical appointments. She was extremely polite, professional, and fair in the manner in which she handled the situation. She may have offered me a refund, but I only asked for a different room, one with the certification seal Like I noticed on the door of some rooms guaranteeing that the room had been cleaned and was clean. She immediately, and deftly, assigned me a new room as I had requested. The new room was on a different floor. I must say, the manager was kind, apologetic for the inconvenience that I had experienced, and was fair in all of my dealings with her throughout my 2- day stay. The new room turned out to be certified clean as requested and as I had been promised. The room was very clean. I found no bugs. I slept well the second night of my stay.
Disliked: See previous detailed response.

Liked: It was close to where we needed to be. Some staff were great.
Disliked: First room we were given the AC was broken in Houston in July. There was hair all over the floor and bathtub. The next room was a little cleaner but the sheets were questionable.
