Good stay. Long Elevator wait....
Liked: Location, breakfast and staff
Disliked: Elevator situation awful. Waiting a long time for elevators that were full when they arrived. The elevators know when they are full, so why do they still stop??

If you can, choose something...
Liked: Only the position !
Disliked: Let's start with the rooms! Too small for a family of four! The beds are French-style, so you sleep squished together! The elevators are the sore point... always full! It takes up to 20 minutes to get down to the breakfast room, which is another sore point! Too small for all the hotel guests. So it's a race to find a seat. The food quality is truly poor and the variety extremely limited! What can I say... the only positive note is the location very close to Times Square.

Our third stay in less...
Liked: The location is excellent, the room is very clean and functional. The option of having coffee available throughout the day is excellent.
Disliked: During peak hours, the wait for the elevators is very long.

Cramped, too busy, free breakfast...
Liked: The location was very convenient to all of the activities in Times Square and the Theater District.
Disliked: The breakfast congestion on the elevators was truly terrible / unacceptable. Even with waking up before 7am, which I did not want to do on my vacation, we would wait for up to 15 minutes just to get an elevator downstairs. Once I gave up and walked 19 floors down (and I'm pregnant!). The congestion is so bad because the elevator would become full but continue to stop at every single floor that had requested it, making it take 10 times longer and allowing more people to pile up on the floors above. Sufficiently working elevators that go to the lobby when their weight limit is near full would go a long way towards solving this problem. As for breakfast itself, it was stale and not warm enough, even when taking something from a tray a worker had just brought out. Finding a place to sit -- forget it. It was a zoo. We were there 4 nights and by the 4th morning couldn't take it anymore and went out for breakfast. ALSO, I saw on a thread online that the eggs are NOT GLUTEN FREE. But they are no labeled as such -- in fact, there are no allergy labels on anything. No gluten free cereal options. It's like living in 1995 nutritionally, and they simply need to do better. Finally, the rooms were tiny, and it was like playing chess to for 3 people to move between the 2 queen beds. I know for a fact that other hotels in the area with a similar price point have bigger rooms, as I had a friend staying there at the same time as me at another hotel, and she sent me a picture of her room. This stay ruined my previously good opinion of Hampton, and I would never stay here again.
