Extreme discomfort

Inadequate preparation and communication
Liked: The property is conveniently located both to the quaint downtown area and to the airport. There was ample parking. The room was great, as usual.
Disliked: When I checked in the desk, clerk advised me that the elevator was out, but is she expected it to be repaired within a couple of hours. I lugged my luggage up to the third floor room, dropped it off, and proceeded back to my car to drive into town for dinner.When I returned, the elevator was still out. I made the trek back up the stairs to my third floor room. When I woke up the next morning, I got dressed and went out into the hall and saw a housekeeper. I asked if the elevator was operating yet. She replied no. I went down the stairs to the breakfast area. I opened up the container that said eggs – no eggs. I opened the container that said sausage gravy– no sausage gravy. I waved my hand in front of the waffle irons – cold. I encountered of an employee in the lobby area. Was there any hot items for breakfast, she said no.I would’ve thought that there would be some signs out or that I would’ve been notified when I checked in that there was going to be no hot breakfast. This is one of the reasons I have selected Hampton Inn as my regular lodging for business trips – good hot food. I can understand elevators being out as everything breaks down from time to time. It would’ve been nice if they could’ve gotten a little bit better estimation of when it would be fixed. However, I have no idea why there would be absolutely no hot breakfast items. Even if the kitchen was down to an electrical issue, it seems they would still be waffle batter available for hot waffles in the morning.For the first time in a very long time, I was fairly disappointed in the facilities and the staff.
