Great stopover

Liked: Great place for a stopover off the A1.A grand old house, lots of space and places to relax. The staff were exceptional, love to see a team happy and working hard to cater for every need. Food was very good. Good value too. All round a very pleasant stay, exceeding expectations

Liked: The bed was comfortable with good facilities. Good choice of different food at breakfast. Had one dinner which was well presented with friendly staff.

Disappointing

Liked: Most of the staff were very good. I did however feel like they thought I was going to leave without paying when we were loading up the cars. Apparently they made others feel like this as well if the were popping out to get a bit of fresh air. A few of us had rooms that evening.
Disliked: The food was very poor. We stayed for a family wedding. The food at the wedding event was awful. Breakfast was very mediocre.

Liked: Perfect spot to chill out
Disliked: Carpets in rooms could do with updating but overall fab hotel fab staff and fab food.. shame there's no gym or swimming pool

Great hotel as long as...

Liked: The bar and staff were very nice and the decor was lovely. There was a good ambience created by the venue
Disliked: The room we stayed in (103) was tiny! I couldn’t fit in the shower and I’m not a large man by any means. My bedside lamp didn’t work and the tea facilities didn’t have a table or anywhere to actually make a coffee/tea so you had to do it on the floor!
