better communication within the staff

Disliked: I reserved the Spa because of my son and husband were going to a show. Got to the Spa and they did not make the reservation got to saty alone in my room

The best hotel stay that...

Liked: I could not recommend the Fairmont with any more enthusiasm! If I could rate it an eleven or twelve I would! The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Every detail was attended to. The staff were friendly and always more than willing to help. The Gold level provided access to a private 35th floor longe with a wonderful breakfast, afternoon snack, canape and dessert. The view of Austin from the lounge was spectacular! Access to the heated rooftop pool was from the 7th floor. It was comfortable and relaxing even in though the air was cool during our visit. We borrowed the complimentary bikes and used the extensive trail system to explore the city daily.
Disliked: Nothing. They thought of everything and the training of the staff was impeccable.

If you are a tourist...

Liked: Decent convention hotel.
Disliked: Not the best location unless you were going to the convention. Valet parking is often a mess. Their club lounge was variable. We found that our suite was large but not particularly well decorated. Bathroom was small and the adjacent powder room had no counter space or towels. We would stay somewhere else next time. Elevators close too fast.

Great Hotel, great location, food...

Liked: Gold experience = the breakfast in the high floor was amazing - as good as it gets. Rooms were great and very comfortable, bathrooms too. Overall service was very good. Pretty hotel and comfortable.
Disliked: Food in general (not including breakfast) not so great. Restaurant ground floor a bit decadent, menu not so great, food alternatives and quaility poor. The view from the rooms were to a construction site.

Enjoyed the location views and...

Liked: Loved the convenience of the gold level amenities as time was limited and could grab a drink or breakfast before heading out the door

Superb

Liked: Hotel was beautiful. Gold package is excellent as it offers a vip lounge area which was a lovely addition. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our 3 night stay here.
Disliked: Had a slight hiccup on the first night where the air conditioning had been down in the hotel all day and our room was unbearably hot, however the hotel moved us to another room and everything was great ftom there on.
