Liked: The location was lovely so near to the abbey with it beautifully lit up at night. Also some lovely cafes and bakery’s right near and just a 7 minute walk to a supermarket.
Disliked: Location. Friendly staff. Cheap.

Liked: It is a typical pub/hotel with an excellent location directly across the road from Sherborne Abbey. Plenty of parking round the back.
Disliked: Poor WiFi and quite noisy until 11-30 - the outside tables were directly under our bedroom window.

Very convenient and practical
Liked: Perfect location for my needs, very central, could walk to everything. Room was very nice and big. Comfortable bed, lots of hot water. Parking was great, staff friendly and efficient.
Disliked: Decor needs an update, minimal tea and coffee options in the room. No aircon so had to have the windows open and the church bells chime loudly all through the night.

Liked: Good food and central location with free parking, (You park and then register vehicle at reception to avoid paying for parking)
Disliked: Abbey is very close, and the bells toll on the quarter hour all through the night, but this would apply to all the places to stay in this area. Men's toilet from dining area has no lock and needs a loo roll holder!

Liked: Location and Parking good
Disliked: Room very tired. Window opened by 100mm (4") only so no fresh air Room too stuffy. Were told that window was not allowed to be opened any more (for our safety!!) We are 70 years old so if we wanted to jump out of the window we would choose a much better location than straight out onto the kitchen roof a few feet below. I offered to sign a declaration responsibility for our actions if we could have the window opened so we could breathe. Maybe we would have died of heat instead! We asked for a better room, but none was available. Really??? We did get two fans but circulating hot air is not a substitute to Fresh air. Couldn't keep room door open since corridor just as hot. Found it difficult to sleep but when we did, we woke up exhausted. General state of the room very poor (photos will be circulated), it was like a shoebox, no place to put luggage, bed uncomfortable. Breakfast food poor: Berries to go with cereal had either been kept in a hot place or had been kept in microwave too long (assumed to have been frozen??) because the compote was warm. Porridge on the other hand was warm water on oats, so not cooked. Staff were polite, but they cannot make up for the very poor accommodation. We have recently stayed in 4 star hotels at lower price then the £137 (including extra for breakfast) for this shabby hot hotel. I could go on and on, but really cant be bothered because my influence on other websites may help others to avoid this place.

Liked: Location and staff were very good.
Disliked: Being woken every 15m by the Church chimes. Beer delivery outside our window at 7.30 am.
