Historic Charm Meets Music-Lover Convenience in Marylebone

Gunmakers is a charming boutique hotel with a traditional British pub feel, nestled in the heart of Marylebone. Just a short walk from Oxford Street and Regent's Park, this cozy spot blends old-world charm with modern convenience. With easy access to the Tube and top nightlife spots, it’s an ideal base for concert-goers wanting to stay close to the action without sacrificing comfort.

Why Concert-goers love it

Located just over a mile from popular venues like the Piccadilly Theatre and Tottenham Court Road, Gunmakers puts you within quick reach of London's buzzing live music scene. Guests love the late 12:00 checkout — perfect for sleeping in after a late-night gig. With 24-hour front desk service and central Tube access, getting back after a show is both safe and simple. Despite being in the thick of things, its quiet Marylebone location helps ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a cozy, character-filled base
  • Solo travelers heading to see a bucket-list band or artist
  • Couples enjoying a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans who want a quieter, local vibe post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers wanting boutique style without luxury price tags

Food and Drink Options

Gunmakers features an on-site restaurant serving classic British cuisine with options for vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free diets. While it doesn’t offer 24/7 dining or room service, the downstairs pub stays open late, and you’re surrounded by walkable eateries and late-night bites along Oxford Street. Breakfast is available — ideal after a night out.

Nightlife Options

The on-site pub is a true highlight, offering local brews and a welcoming atmosphere. For more action, you’re within walking or a quick Tube ride of Soho’s buzzing bars, jazz lounges, and late-night clubs. Whether you want to keep the night going or enjoy a quiet nightcap, it’s all within reach.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, unique pub atmosphere, and central location. Many mention how easily they could get to shows and then unwind in the peaceful surroundings. The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, and the vibe is authentic London charm.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can be on the smaller side, especially if you’re traveling with lots of gear. Some guests noted that the vintage building means a few creaky floors or narrow stairs — but that’s all part of the charm for most.

The Bottom Line

Gunmakers is a welcoming, character-packed stay for music fans who want to be close to the action but value a good night’s sleep and a pint after the show.

Well located cosy accommodation

Liked: Comfortable , fantastic staff, great location.Easy to check in and easy access 24/7 with a key code. Rooms are air conditioned , with plenty of towels and toiletries. Kettle and tea and coffee provided, no decaf options or water. Fabulous artisan market on a Sunday in the street.
Disliked: Needed an iron in the room, fridge, decaf coffee and tea. There are no lifts so bear this in mind, lots of stairs. If you're booking at a weekend be mindful it is only the bar staff on hand to assist. We needed a plumber and an electrician and had to move rooms as no one available to sort the faults. The staff were excellent however.

Great location in a very...

Liked: Great location , clean room handy for Marylebone registry office . Everything was to our liking . Shown to our room by a pleasant staff member but other than that didn’t see anyone .
Disliked: The price was expensive for a pub room . We were there for 2 nights and it would have been nice to have the tea facilities topped up mid stay for that price . There was nasty damp smell in the bathroom .
