Good

Liked: Amazing location, half way between Marylebone and Oxford st. Loads of near by places to eat and shops, but not noisy.
Disliked: No staff available. We were given a number in case we needed someone but the number wouldn’t connect and the lane line wasn’t answered either, so if we’d have been locked out etc we would have been very stuck. The shower stopped working too, which we later found out was a water pump problem, but when you e got no way of contacting anyone this is a bit frustrating. Bathroom wasn’t very clean, grout in the shower was dirty, and the shower itself had definitely seen better daysVery suspicious stain on one of the cushions on the bed (not a pillow) but fairly disgusting all the same.

Pleasant

Disliked: Plumbing broke during the night and I was unable to shower, use the bathroom, brush my teeth - wasn’t even offered a free coffee. It’s just a lot to pay to not be able to even access the bathroom essentially over a 12 hour period!

Disappointing

Intimidating by pub atmosphere as...

Liked: As a solo female traveller I was intimidated by the fact the rooms are essentially part of a slightly rough pub. One frequented by mostly men. Breakfast was only served at midday. The place smelt of beer and fried food.
Disliked: As above. I didn’t like anything about this pub with rooms. It should not be sold as a hotel at all. That’s deceitful.

So good we’d book to...

Liked: Whilst the room wasn’t huge, it was perfectly laid out and there were some really nice finishing touches. It was really easy to control the temperature and we didn’t notice much ambient noise at all. The bed was big and comfortable with good quality sheets/bedding which does make a huge difference.The shower is also big enough for two
Disliked: There is nothing negative to say as they had all bases covered.Yes there are stairs but the super friendly staff in the pub at check in did offer to help with bags (which was kind but in our case not needed)You can have dinner in the pub itself but not breakfast however you can get 10% off at a few local eateries instead

True gem in the middle...

Liked: The Deluxe Room was very spacious and lovely furnished. The bed was comfortable, the heating is easily adjustable. My room was above the pub but I could not hear anything from downstairs.
Disliked: N/A

Lovely stay over marathon weekend....

Liked: Quiet rooms, friendly staff.
Disliked: Tv was far away from the bed. But it really didn't matter.
