Good stay in Barcelona

Liked: We had two connecting rooms for our family of four so we had plenty of space. There were plenty of surfaces in the room and bathroom to store our belongings. Housekeeping did a great job daily. The breakfast buffet was better than we expected, and we liked that we could sit on the patio with our kids (although we wish it was non-smoking). The rooftop pool was nice and although it was too cold to really swim during our stay we enjoyed sunbathing. The pool is small and only a meter deep which is great for us (a family with young kids). The location was convenient, and although we were on a busy street our room was on the back of the building so we couldn't hear any traffic noise. They gave our daughters roses for St Jordi upon arrival which was a nice touch.
Disliked: The lobby lacks personality and feels sterile, not cozy. The floor drain in one of our bathrooms overflowed two separate times while draining the bath tub. We called for help but maintenance and housekeeping were slow to respond. The first time it overflowed the smell was disgusting and moldy water flooded our bathroom. Housekeeping did a wonderful job cleaning it up, but I feel hotel management should have offered us an apology or a comped meal as compensation, especially since it wasn't fixed the first time and happened twice. I also wish there was a way to open the windows partially as we didn't feel safe having them open while we were in the room because we have young children and were on a high floor. The doors are thin and you can hear everyone coming and going and talking in the halls.

Liked: The location was excellent; however, the room was not properly cleaned. As for breakfast, it's advisable to go early, as the variety becomes quite limited later on. Additionally, the restaurant is small and often lacks available seating.
