Bad
Liked: Location
Disliked: Room was dark and dusty, lift was out of order and I’ve got a knee injury, so I had to literally go up and down with a suitcase to the 3rd floor with no lift, really not like this hotel

Medical condition
Liked: Well, great victoria Hotel and assessable staff are very welcome.
Disliked: Well, great victoria Hotel is a good place to stay, but one thing I regret was the lift with my medical condition assisting the lift with suitcase was terrible and scary. This has really broken me down with knee plans.

Not the best experience.
Liked: I liked the reception. I liked the waterfall shower and the toiletries. The waterfall shower was very nice. The towels were nice and white and fluffy. There was a nice pack of 2 biscuits though there was only one pack between two of us.
Disliked: Our booking was not registered even though it had been confirmed by booking.com. There were no superior double rooms left so we were offered an upgrade which was on the 4th floor and no lifts were working, or a double on the second floor. We took the upgrade on the 4th floor which was actually more than 8 lots of stairs. There was a lovely looking bath in the upgrade room which was a junior penthouse room but we found that the bath was not plumbed in. There was no coffee machine as described. Some of the floor tiles were cracked and the bathroom tiles weren't the cleanest. There was only one coffee sachet each in the room though the coffee was nice.

Very disappointing
Liked: The location for Bradford centre and access to the transport hub is excellent
Disliked: The lift was broken for our entire stay - 5 days on floor 3. 75 or more stairs for two of us in our mid 70s. Staff had to carry all the bedding etc. every day too. Fortunately staff did help us with our luggage, but we had to ask. The lift had been broken for some time (eg before Easter) but we hadn't been informed before we arrived to allow us to re-arrange or cancel. There wasn't even an apologetic note in the room from the management. Staff were not responsive/caring to comments about facilities or issues needing attention. For instance breakfast food was never hot, due to the outside doors often being open. The coffee was often cold and the pump pots didn't work well. Staff needed to be alerted when items needed to be replenished. The internal telephone system was virtually unusable - it uses wifi which was almost non-existent. We had 5 nights worth of clothes, but the wardrobe (in the lobby of the suite and nowhere near the bedroom) was only big enough for our outer coats. There was no refrigerator, although there was a unit that was clearly available for one. The sitting room had nothing other than net curtains and there was no door between it and the bedroom so the bedroom was very light from sunrise. The carpets weren't hoovered during our stay. Our bill was confusing - we believe we were charged £8 for a small bottle of water each day, but the receptionist couldn't explain, and no one was on duty to clarify. He suggested we contact the hotel after the Bank Holiday weekend to get an explanation. We discussed all these issues with the duty manager on leaving and he said he would pass the message on, but had no authority to do anything other than apologise. We paid average £140 a night for this.
