Disappointed

Liked: Location is quiet but 9 minute walk to the underground.
Disliked: Room had lots of wear and tear. Mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. WiFi was spotty. Felt a little grimy for the price point.

Staff should be ashamed of...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: On arrival, we were left sitting for half an hour, while our ‘room was sorted out’. Half an hour later it emerged that there was no room for us, despite booking months in advance. Communication from staff was disgraceful, and after sitting for a long time we were told a taxi was coming to take us elsewhere, despite us having no knowledge or having given no consent for this. We were told we would have to pay for the new hotel, and it would be after our trip was over before we could expect a refund. No other compensation was offered. Then the hotel we were brought to, despite being reassured it was the same standard we had paid for, had no knowledge of our arrival and no suitable rooms. We found accommodation ourselves elsewhere. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

Liked: The location was ideal for us and the area nice and quiet
Disliked: The room was small and in a poor condition and in need of redecorating and/or a deep clean. There were marks on the walls and the headboard didn’t look very clean. The bathroom was very tired.

Liked: Nice quiet location in a beautiful neighborhood. The air-conditioning was a blessing. Room was very large and the beds extremely comfortable. The staff was always friendly and all smiles. We were treated warm and welcoming.
Disliked: Only one thing I would like is more hooks for towels in the bathroom. Or hooks at all. There was no way to put up the towels except in the shower itself. I still highly recommend.

Disliked: The bed was too hard for me. But it might suit someone else

Excluded, discriminated and disgusted with...

Liked: Two double beds in one room
Disliked: Paid for breakfast that stated on booking.com only breakfast not as continental as hotel tried to charge £5 surcharge per person for hot food not stated anywhere on your website about surcharge and get told that is booking.com fault for making that mistake not the hotel.Cross contamination of vegetarian breakfast items with meat items as hash browns cooked together in animal fat. I expected during my stay that they don’t cater to halal breakfast but to be told they don’t cater to vegetarian as well shocked. When talking to the manager elisabeth told they prefer a certain type of guest that don’t have demands about breakfast items. Made to feel excluded and other with comments from the staff that English people can eat whatever and due to my dress, food preferences, skin colour I’m not English. My sister Salima commented about allergens for guest would the staff not cater. Elisabeth explained that’s different and of cause they would accommodate by informing guests but not do anything to prevent the risks of cross contamination as my sister requested to have the baked beans before put in the food trays to be put in a bowl so the risk of contamination is limited but the staff refused. Able to have poached eggs, toast and continental but the whole experience ruined our stay.The bathtub was chipped and the bathroom tiles were filthy. They left a dirty mug and spoon in the cupboard with the kettle. Facilities are old and dated with a tiny television that looks 20 years old and the decor looks tired and dirty.
