The Spotlight on Grand Royale London Hyde Park

Stylish Comfort Just Steps from Hyde Park

Modern and elegant, the Grand Royale London Hyde Park offers a boutique 4-star experience in the heart of London. Housed in a historic building, this hotel is only a short walk from Bayswater and Queensway Tube Stations, making it a perfect base for music lovers heading to gigs across the city. With its warm-toned decor, plush seating, and 24-hour front desk, it strikes a balance between classic charm and modern convenience.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is a hit with concert-goers thanks to its prime location—you’re just a few Tube stops from major venues like the O2 Arena, Royal Albert Hall, or Eventim Apollo. The 24-hour front desk is great for late check-ins after a show, and the quiet residential setting near Hyde Park means you can unwind in peace. Paddington Station is a 15-minute walk away, making post-concert travel simple—even to Heathrow late at night.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a central base with nightlife nearby
- Solo travelers catching a once-in-a-lifetime gig
- Couples pairing a show with a romantic weekend in London
- Fans wanting a quieter place to recover after the encore
- Budget-conscious music fans who still want a touch of elegance

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no round-the-clock room service, the hotel’s elegant restaurant serves a solid breakfast—ideal for sleeping in after a late night out. The cozy Theater Bar offers comfortable leather armchairs and a classic drinks menu to wind down with. You’re also surrounded by walkable dining options, from quick bites to sit-down meals, many of which stay open late.

Nightlife Options

Though the hotel itself keeps things low-key, the surrounding Bayswater area is full of lively pubs, cocktail lounges, and late-night eateries. And with two Tube stations just 3 minutes away, nightlife hotspots across London—from Camden to Soho—are within easy reach.

What People Say

Guests love the beautiful historic exterior and the charming decor inside. The location gets top marks for being so close to Hyde Park and public transport. Travelers also appreciate the friendly staff and the hotel’s overall value for money, especially in central London.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms tend to be on the compact side—not ideal if you're traveling with lots of gear or planning to hang out in your room a lot. Some guests noted that soundproofing could be better, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

The Bottom Line

A stylish, central London stay that’s perfect for concert-goers who want comfort, convenience, and easy access to the Tube after the final encore.

Lovely stay

Liked: Great location! Breakfast was good. The hotel is a great walking distance from the park and other things
Disliked: Rooms were a bit smaller than imagined but did the trick! Bathrooms probably need some renovations but wasn’t a big issue

Great location

Liked: The reception area and hall ways were beautiful and breakfast good
Disliked: The bedroom was very small, the wall paper was coming away from the wall on the window wall. The pillows were either lumpy or old memory foam.

Lovely historical hotel

Liked: The staff were lovely and helpful. The chamber person left different biscuits each day of my stay. The fruit water in the lobby was refreshing. The breakfast was full of choices and every thing I tried was delicious.
Disliked: The window in my room didn't open.

Great Location, beautiful grand old...

Liked: The location was perfect across the road from Kensington Park. Near the underground and to many eateries. The hotel itself was amazing, drenched in history.
Disliked: The room was so small. We had close our suitcases when we finished using them as we couldnot walk around our beds. The bathroom was very tiny and the shower secreen should be made wider.

Waste of money and time.

Liked: The girls in the breakfast room were very friendly and nice. The only people I met there who didn't make me feel like I was in some way beneath them and wasting their time.
Disliked: Corridors are so narrow it is very claustrophobic to rooms. I paid for a better quality room and my bed was a very narrow single, it felt like sleeping on a wide bench, I could easily have fallen off. There is a large construction site outside. The room I was in also back onto a parking lot with bins and a car park and you could hear bins and some kind of business etc out there. There were also loud fans outside. Bathroom was so narrow it was actually difficult to use. There are no locks on the doors in the ENTIRE HOTEL!! For a single woman traveller, this was a BIG NO. I asked someone to look at the lock and a man came up with a toolbox and informed me .. no locks work in any of the rooms. What you have is a small chain that you can put over ... it literally could be pushed open with no effort at all. I have never stayed in a hotel that has removed locks from every customer. The welcome was not welcoming. I felt like I was being interrogated. They demanded photo ID and then my bank card ... even although there is no minifridge or anything like that in the room. I have come home and see a very odd fee of 8 for a 'you tube google film' LONDON has been taken off my card. I have not used my card for anything in London other than Pret, so... I am concerned when they swiped my card (for zero reason and I did not want them to) some random charge has been taken. Don't stay here. There are massively better hotels for this price. I could barely afford the visit as it is so for it to be such poor quality just feels offensive to customers.

Very good. Could be outstanding...

Liked: Lovely hotel, room was a bit meh considering how lovely and history-laden the rest of the hotel is. But air con was good. Everything was very clean and looked after.
Disliked: Room just a bit lacking in character given the rest of the hotel.
