Valarie, Ventura, visiting SLO Brewing Company Wed, 12 November 2014

Liked: Everything about my experience here was great! Wi-Fi, bicycles, and quality toiletries are included. I love that there is a key, and not a card, for each room. I reserved two rooms that shared a patio with two bistro tables and a fire pit that actually warmed the area. The quality of the hotel is excellent, down to every last finish. The hotel feels somewhat like a bed & breakfast, but is much more private and elegant. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. I couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience.

Pleasant

Liked: Stayed here before and like the location and continental breakfast. Bistro has been good in previous visits.
Disliked: The WiFi did not work for the entire night of our stay. Were told it would be repaired in the morning. Unfortunately, we left the next morning.

Vintage, artsy hotel, good location...

Liked: The hotel itself has retro European vibes. Decorations are a nice vintage aesthetic. Welcome drinks provided (need an alternative to alcohol though please). Rooms were nice and clean enough. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast provided (a rarity in the USA, so a very welcome touch!) Restaurant is delightful and food is excellent. Bar seemed nice too (I can't drink right now so didn't try it). Parking space provided. The soaps provided smell amazing - likely to order!
Disliked: The room was quite small, with not a lot of space for our luggage at all. Was 'upgraded' room but not really sure what that meant - they gave us a shared patio space? But the weather was awful so we never used it and they put us right on top of the cocktail bar which played music until 11pm+. Should definitely inform guests that this will happen beforehand. Got a text that the front desk would close at 11 but music was still going on at 11:15 so had no idea what to do. No earplugs provided upon arrival, but after complaining about the music the next day, they gave them to us. It isn't terrible, but I'm pregnant, so free cocktails after to make up for it doesn't help. Guests shouldn't have to go to the bar and ask them when they will close.

For the price it operates...

Liked: Cleanliness and friendly staff. Nice welcome by Cassandra, clearly informing us about the hotel rules and welcoming us with a nice glass of local rose wine. After we checked out, One person in our family left the computer cables and phone cables at the hotel, and they kindly called us after we checked out to arrange the best way to ship our stuff. The bistro is cute, with a nice bar.
Disliked: The rooms are quite small, and the bathroom shower is Integrated into the bed area with no privacy. The suggestion is to make frosted glass (chic and elegant) instead of fully transparent glass. They have no concierge after 11 pm and leaving the back stairwell to the parking area open does not give the best safe feeling for guests.

Didn’t stay but was wrongly...

Liked: Hotel allowed Booking .com to charge me not once but twice for room I cancelled well before the cancellation deadline, then told me they couldn’t help me. Plus, I canceled because the I couldn’t fit my midsize suv down their tiny alley to parking lot, wanted me to park in public parking garage a block away overnite. I’m furious about the charges and their lack of concern over the issue, I overall think this place sucks. Not happy with hotel or Booking.com.
Disliked: Everything.
